I live in a rural area in Oklahoma. The last I had done were about 2 years ago. Cost around $230 for hips and elbows, dog was sedated. I always ask to see the x-rays before I agree for them to send them off. I was not pleased with positioning and asked him to re-do them, he did, at no extra cost. Passed OFA good. I am pleased in my area, I have used this vet for the last 6 dogs I have done.

Ctidmore .. I'll send you four NC State vets for one of your Oklahoma vets and within a year you will be paying $350 - $400 like the folks here .. hows that for a deal??

Bubba, how long have you had dogs and how long have you been paying vet bills? We used to be able to buy a good car for 10 to 11 K too. Everything costs more today.

I have dealt with veterinarians for well over 50 years and went to college with several. What is happening today is that the corporations and insurance companies are taking control of veterinary medicine just like they did with human medicine in the last 4 decades with the same huge cost increases and reduced quality of care as we have seen in human medicine over the last 40 years. Now we have a "vet in a box" to go with the "doc in a box".

Jenni, it was Animal Hospital of Woodstock, Dr. Joanne Randall, they have a full service repro clinic there. This is the second set of OFA x-rays I had done there and they were wonderful quality films. The only complaint I have about that place is I am always put on hold whenever I call there, which being an impatient person it irritates me a bit more than it should.
