@ Mr G;

"It is a small minority that started "gay rights, save the wales, save the trees, ban on fighting dogs and chickens, horse meat for human food, laws against spanking your children and the list goes on and on.Hell if you do not like those things DON'T DO IT."

are you for real - most NORMAL people would call that "small minority" selfless heroes with guts and morals??

Not so sure "1 in 10" is all that small a minority when it comes to LGBT rights.
The thing about campaigns like those involved in Paul's list of issues, is they
may start with only a few protestors but they grow, because they affect such a
wide cross-section of people/interests.  They also take a very long time to come
to fruition, in fact most of us would argue they are all still "works in progress".

A matter of arguing with a controlling body to repeal one rule-change in any sport
needs rather quicker action, and a decisive result.  It affects a much narrower
range of people.  Ya can't compare apples to oranges, which is why my post
ignored Paul's attempt to link in those campaigns.  They are different;  they do
not explain anything;  they certainly do not excuse people whinging on their
keyboards if they are not & have not been prepared to demonstrate their conviction
that the FCI was / is wrong, or that the SV is at fault for offering up control to the FCI.

More than 200,000 people signed a petition to send Justin Beibers ass back to Canada, it now sits on the President of the US's desk...
Why don't the people that are so opposed to these new regulations fight back? There really Iis strength in numbers.
with Social Media being as it is today, it really would not take that much effort, to fight for what you believe in...
Draft the petition, and pass it around...

by Paul Garrison on 09 February 2014 - 15:02

The post of mine was not very clear and I will try to clear it up a bit.

The fight back against those issues were not done very well by people that strongly disagree.
Politically I am a very less goverment person. So what you do with your property should not be under government control. Example: A business should be able to hire or not hire anyone or gorup of folks they want too. If they do not like Christians, or fat people ect ect that should be their right, and if we do not like their practices, do not do business with them.
I am sure most of these folks are trying to do what they believe is right. But legislating moraility on others is wrong.
Liberty gives anyone the right to fling their arms in a stupid manor unless they hit someone.

So do not hit me with your liberty is my point.

"Not so sure "1 in 10" is all that small a minority when it comes to LGBT rights."  One in  ten is not small?

Most of the people on this board are AR believers to one extent or the others. Personally I believe what you do with your dog is your right, whether I agree or not.
In some countries dogs are food.

I am not trying to raise blood pressure, I am trying to induce thought that all will not blindly follow the leader or follow the louder.

Is that better?

Well apparently announcement of the sport's demise is premature:

From the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada website:

Message from the Board 2014-02-11

Hello all,

First the board would like to deal with the FCI  and the stick hits. The WUSV/SV and the RSV 2000 have stated that they will not follow this if the FCI wishes to make this a rule. The GSSCC and UScA will follow the directive set by the WUSV.

Here is UScA's message:

http://www.germanshepherddog.com/organization-news/message-from-our-director-of-judges/

I guess the pertinent portion is

"We will not be removing the stick hits from our trials. USCA is dedicated to preserving the

working heritage of the German Shepherd Dog. While Schutzhund has become a sport/showcase

for our training and dogs, we must never lose sight that at its core, it is a breed suitability test.

When rules are created that threaten or water down the evaluation process, we have an obligation

to the breed to resist."

SS and howlk9, that is great news! Too bad they didn't respond sooner to the announcement from FCI, but better late than not at all.
Like I said in my first post on this thread; FCI needs to be banned.
Thanks to both of you for the update.

The FCI announcement was on Wed, 6 days later USCA came out with our announcement. In those 6 days we had to gather information from FCI working commission, WUSV, VDH and RSV2000...I don't think 6 days to gather accurate information and respond is "better late than not at all"...In those 6 days, there was a lot of meetings in all of those organizations... USCA can not overreact to internet rumors and needs to get the facts before we respond.

Unfortunately as for fighting this within the FCI. No one in the U.S of A. has a vote on this as there is no FCI member in America.
