Can we just lay this poor hybrid beast to sleep and be done with it? He is infecting our breed with poop DNA.

very interesting reading about Boban I own Boban now,and I see people talking about him,but nobody saw or had any contact with him.....we let him go around strange people,he runs loose around chickens, horses etc.....very simple,he is under control........and very short, come and see him before you write any stories about him

Black Sable, congratulations on your acquisition of Boban. Boban's confirmation is very good, an impressive male stallion with a superb head and expression. Sounds like his temperament is working out just fine for you.

DDR-DSH: Your knowledge of GSD's is remarkable, which makes what you did even more deplorable. I am saying this because instead of admitting your mistakes, you have various excuses and are even trying to blame those who rescued your dogs. I happen to know someone who rescued one of those dogs & had to work very hard to save it. The very fact that you have been able to minimize what happened scares me because there is a high probability you would allow it to happen again. I am sorry if this makes anyone uncomfortable and I know this is off topic, but this is important.

Black Sable, First, I want to congradulate you on your new dog. He is a dog, that I mentioned in an earlier post " I would have taken this dog in a heart beat". Two points, you said "nobody saw or had any contact with him". I have seen this dog and if you will read my posts, I also defended him. Second point is to agree with the principle of what you are making. That is that MANY,(but not all) jump in with little or no information and start bashing, ripping apart something they know nothing about. All it takes is for someone to go overboard and MANY like sheep will follow their lead and destroy a dog or a breeder based on hearsay. The lesson on this, do not be like the Pharisees who are so quick to judge before all the facts are in. I am truley happy for you, I think he will be a great dog for you. SPEND LOTS OF TIME WITH HIM,and the dividends will be great. Best wishes

sueincc, Your right, this IS off topic. There are better places to share then someone elses topic. The topic is Boban, not DDR-DSH. It is not my intention to be rude to you, however Black Sable was sharing something very important to them. They were defending the integrity of their dog, Boban. They have the right to straighten out a lot of misconceptions about their new dog. We all have times of impulsiveness, and I am not innocent either, just a reminder for all.

I completely agree. Black Sable, I apologize. I read your comments and am glad you are here.

sueincc, I hope I will take that kind of feedback as graciously as you. Best wishes

Black Sable: I have never encountered Boban nor any of his offspring. I am facinated by him. I have visited the web site where he is still listed as owned and available at vomBanach k9. I have also read this thread and previous threads on this database concerning him. Since you are the current owner and seem content with him thus far, may I ask you to describe him in your own words? Are you making him available for stud service, or is he retired? Are you more "cautious" with him than you are with other dogs you may own? Why did you purchase him? Is it because, like me, he facinated you, or do you have a purpose for him? It is, of course, none of our (my) business, however, good or bad, he has become a legend in the GSD world. Any enlightenment about him would be facinating reading. The info about UFO above was also very interesting and, quite frankly, enjoyable. That is why we (the collective we) come to this web site. To read and learn about the GSD. I wish Boban and you happiness.

The sire of my current bitch was imported and worked by a police k9 officier who was very heavy handed. This boy responded by biting him and so he was sold as the officier could not handle him. His current owner had absolutely no problems working him in police k9 and I was around him alot. When he was brought home he was given alot of attention from not only working but just sitting with him in his kennel and hand feeding him. Today he lives in the home and is very trustworthy(he's 11 now). Point is with the proper handler and training he went from a handler aggressive dog to totally trustworthy. But if the wrong person had bought him this could have gotton alot worse. My female has never warned or bit at me but if I had sold her and a stranger come on too hard it is likely she would have fought back. You cannot train all dogs the same!
