Just curious how many out there have entered AKC shows with your wl dog, for grins and giggles ?

There are some coming up pretty close to me and thinking about having a go. Lol

I've done it a few times, but you're better off to go to UKC shows IMO

Setting yourself up for defeat, unless the judge is an all-breed judge. They would possibly appreciate the closer to correct structure of a wl. But then again, some wls are as extreme as a sl nowadays.

Why not? At least you are able to show a dog with a good temperament...might be an eye-opener for some people.
I would train the routine beforehand...

Probably the dog I would enter. Theres a UKC show in Oct but hubby is deploying like the day before and don't know what kind of mess I will be, though might be the ticket to pull me out of it? Dunno.I believe it is an all breed judge.

But it doesn't have a horribly slopped back!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh the madness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is a beautiful wl, it doesn't have a chance in AKC

I know he doesn't LOL I can make him look more sloped.. maybe.

I think that is about as extreme as I can make him lol. He's just not an extreme dog.

He does have to his advantage a HUGE, ground covering, very free gait.

Maybe I'll chance the UKC show in Oct. I'm just scared I'll be even more of a basket case, having never been in the ring (for this anyways!) and emotionally in a bad place.

Save your Confederate Money and take comfort in the belief that the South will not rise again.  Entering that dog in an AKC show is setting yourself up for disaster.  That dog cannot walk on its hocks because it actually has feet.
