Just wanted to share three of the show puppies from Marcato's first litter.  They are pictured here at 12 weeks old, stacked by the stud dog owner

Marcato's Turn the Page "Mikasa" (pronounced Meek-ah-sah, not "mi casa")

Marcato's Shame on the Moon "London"

Marcato's Neon Sky "Striker"

Very nice puppies, all of them, I especially like the 2nd one.

When you put your hands on her, she's not as nice as the first one, nor is she as nice in motion.  That said, the temperaments and personalities on all these puppies are *stellar* (as are those in the rest of the litter).  Lots of confidence, bold, social, no environmental or noise sensitivities.  They are an improvement on their mother (who is not awful of course, but there were things I wanted changed).

The first bitch is my keeper.  Shorter back, better motion, especially in terms of balance, smaller size.  All things I needed as her mother is too long, has more rear than front, and is a bit oversized.  The second bitch (who people do love in pictures) is almost a carbon copy of her mother.  She is still long, but has a shorter back than her mother, better follow through, stronger head, better earset, slightly longer croup, and better tailset.

The improved ear sets come from the sire.  He also improved temperament, head type, and took some of the edge off my bitch.  My bitch improved on him in terms of pasterns and feet (his pasterns are a bit soft and his feet slightly loose) as well as ligamentation (he is slightly loose there as well).  My fronts are still a bit straight and forward, but that is a problem that will take a lot of work with AmLines.

All the puppies are beautifully dark, which is my preference.  Eight of nine puppies have ears up.  My bitch puppy is still working at it :p.  The ear bases are up nice, just waiting for the rest of the ear to follow.  The sire improved the sets, but my bitch gave the puppies her gigantic ears -_-

I have a somewhat unrelated question...hope you don't mind, Jackie. How do you all keep track of litters' performance if they all have different, unrelated names? I mean, I can go to working-dog.eu and do a search for, say, C litter Eqidius and boom! There they are with joint ratings, titles, etc. (mostly). How does one go about researching if there is no consistency to names? Or is there a database or something for Am. lines that I'm not familiar with where all are listed by sire and dam, etc.?

Sorry I'm being impertinent but reading their names I got curious. Red Smile

Oh, I can still keep track of them.  This litter was the Bob Seger litter, so their names are all related, just like with letters :)

i use music themes for my litters, so they can always be tracked.  Plus I have all the paperwork in a binder to note which pup is in which litter

You picked the best song to keep for yourself, LOL! And I love the name Mikasa... very pretty.

I don't know Am. Lines very well, just not my personal cup of tea, but this looks like a lovely litter. Nice dark colors. I think #3 is my favorite, though - he just looks like he is ready to go!

I know YOU can Jackie...I was curious how others would. I don't mean to derail; it's really not important...just a curiosity I've had with Am. names. Your puppies sound great and I'm happy for you.

Others will be out of luck unless they ask me/somebody that knows the theme, or can make the connection with the names.

I don't like the letter thing because it just doesn't leave enough room for creativity for me.  And I HATE seeing names like D'Portia to follow the letter rule.  YUCK!

Striker's

handler is considering trying IPO :)

I'd love to see that!

There is a gal in the other club in town that does IPO with her Am. Line male. She say's he's pretty good, and I've been told that he impressed the hell out of the trainer, but I need to make it over there some time to see it with my own eyes. It's great that there are still some Am. Lines out there that can do that!
