Sunsilver

Most of you probably don't use studs of this quality or even consider it because your breeding programs aren't to this level yet.

Wow...arrogant...much?  Roll eyes

The male I referred to awhile back was sired by a well-know Sieger, yet he was a dud. I bought a pup from the first litter he sired in N. America. She has faded pigrment, is mildly dysplastic in one hip, a less than perfect earset, and issues with her front end. Her legs come too close to the centre line when she gaits, and he front paws almost cross over each other. She's also an inch oversized for a female.

Yet her pedigree is to die for: 5 siegers in the first 4 generation, plus numerous V rated dogs.

It's NOT all about the pedigree!  I have since found out both her grandsires were known to produce faded pigrment, especially in the female lines. One of her grandsires MAY have been dyed before he went into the show ring.

I didn't say her pedigree is unimportant, I said her specific pedigree is unimportant to recommend some proven studs.  You are twisting my words.

Like I said earlier, unless your concerned about line breeding, it shouldn't matter as long as the pedigree is high quality with 5 generations full of proven genetics.

Top studs get used on a wide variety of pedigrees and don't only work with one genetic line of dogs

Sunsilver, the dog your talking about was unproven.  I'm only looking at proven studs with proven progeny so it doesn't surprise me that happened to you

It doesn't sound like the OP wants a mentor, bz. All our debating and trying to get the best of one another was for nothing.  Now I feel violated so will have one of those bourbons to boost my self esteem. Cheers.

Blitzen,

He still needs a mentor, he just doesn't know it!  Doesn't know how to listen.  Everybody else is wrong but him. There hasn't been a single post in support of any of his positions and yet we're all idiots and he's all correct.

As I keep saying, he doesn't know how to listen.

He hears us, but he doesn't listen.  I stand by my original post 100%.

Hopefully some day I can breed as high quality of dogs as you

Just to have fun with the guy.  My old dog was out of the second place dog in the WORLD.  Not the German BSP the WUSV worlds.

My current dog is a son of a WORLD (WUSV) Champion.

Now if someone will give me $1.69 I can take all that and go buy a Mountatin Dew ( I don't drink coffee) for all the good that the son of the best does anyone!   :)

bzcz you say your dog was "out of" and "son of" but did it accomplish anything?  Doesn't really sound that impressive after all your expert advice you had to give me.
