It isn't safe to post a picture of one's dog here anymore, I was thinking of making a post about my new female, I will not

by Blitzen on 25 October 2014 - 21:10

I want to see her, Ibrahim, send me a pm with her photo. Take care...

Blitzen, I will

I would love to see her, too :)

And I am not offended by the opinions of those who mean nothing to me, and know nothing of my dogs.

They are mine, and I love them fine. There are plenty of dogs that are not my cup of tea, plenty I find just plain old hideous. But I wouldn't voice such thoughts. And if I am asked to critique and animal, I do so fairly, regardless of personal preferences and the like.

In the end, we all own what we are comfortable with and what we feel is correct. Should be simple enough to leave well enough alone (you would think).

I find this utterly amazing.  There is a world breed standard that all countries agree to adhere to regarding the gsd.this is fact. The gsdca agrees to this standard and then refuses to follow it.this is undisputed fact as well.

I understand someone owning and loving a dog like xephs dogs.  What I will never understand is breeding them.  Breeding a gsd should mean following the advice of stephanitz."take this trouble for me....."and many of us believe that.  Furthermore we believe that any one who breeds should be held to this standard, why else breed?

We get that you love your dog, what we think you don't understand is that they shouldn't be breed if they can't meet the ststandards.

And I disagree with your assessment :). There are types of dogs I feel shouldn't be bred, but it's not my place to say, nor would it change anything.

And so I buy dogs I find suitable for my lifestyle and support breeders that have what I want/need.

I do not apologize for it, nor will I argue the point. I will say I'd certainly like to know what people consider working, beyond IPO. Lord knows I've had a hell of a time finding a new service dog within our (supposed to be) versatile breed.

"It isn't safe to post a picture of one's dog here anymore, I was thinking of making a post about my new female, I will not"

Just a sad situation when others have to try and control what others do.

A world breed standard? lol, move to Germany, you aren't going to change a thing in the land of the FREE. Would you also like to tell me if I should procreate? Or are you good with me making that decision? There are standards of conduct in a society and I don't see people even trying to follow them here so nyet to the control.

Why would you need to move to Germany?

Are you going to tell me that the gsdca does not agree to our follow the breed standard to which they just hosted a national show?

If you wanna argue about that, could you start a different thread?

Western Rider

by Western Rider on 26 October 2014 - 05:10

Please this thread is not about the standards for the GSD here in the US or anywhere else.

If you wish to discuss the standards of the GSD and which  ones should be bred then make a new thread don't do it here.

This is about an owner showing others her dogs and sharing her joy of them.

Leave the joy and take your crap elsewhere
