did you have a contract in writing that if these dogs were not suitable for work as assistance dogs that whey would be sent back to you?

non-profits sell stuff all the time, it helps to cover operating expenses.

I have an email from her stating she would return if they couldnt be a service dog for a veteran. I have several witnesses who heard us talking and when she agreed to return if they couldnt be service dogs. No written contract as i trusted her.

Lets not forget she lied to the police department on where dix came from. They were under the impression that she was imported from the Czech Republic and they tool possesion of her the day she arrived.

by vk4gsd on 12 November 2014 - 07:11

why would cops care where a dog came from, i have heard crates get returned to breeders/vendors from delivering dog with all the paper work still stuck to the crate. most cops i know in k9, have no clue how or where a dog is bred, they know about as much of pedigrees, breeding and kennels as the average person on the street.

short conversation: ask the average k09 handler about details of various GSD/mal lines - uh, i dunno, dog comes in a box from a vendor, what else is there to know.

dog works or it don't - point is i don't know why the dog's country of origin is of any importance either way to the police, unless theft is reported.

by Donald Harris on 12 November 2014 - 12:11

The point is she lied. Lied to numerous people. Do what you want. Donate. I dont care. I know i had a dog for a specific reason with a promise that if she didnt work she would be returned. And the same day she arrived she went to the pd. I have messages over the past few months with nothing but lies. Im done posting about this. I said what happened you can believe it or not.

Vk, country of origin could be the difference in price and expectations for training and performance. Some people believe that an imported dog, because it crossed the pond makes it a superior animal...the cost is expensive when importing so would be added on. A domestically bred dog doesn't have those import charges added on. Plus, it's not nice to lie, especially t the police.

So I guess its not obstruction of justice to lie to the police.   And some people wonder why the world is headed in the direction it is.  SMH.

The honest way to handle this woudl have been to tell the Police the trurth. That It was a donated dog for the program that didn't make it. Since it was donated, ask the police to donate in exchange for the dog to put money back into the program.  Not sure how anyone can consider getting a dog for free, selling in exchange for money and not call that a profit. Its a profit no matter how its is viewed.

I wanted to give a follow up on this. I have spoken to the Chief at the Barnesville Ohio PD. They paid around 9500 for this dog. They even paid for shipping her from the Czech Republic. Yes from the Czech Republic when in fact the dog came from Arizona and shipping was paid for by donations! One of my puppy owners donated $200 to help ship the dog to Ohio. The same day the dog arrived she was handed over the PD. We were told she would be a service dog for a Veteran and I have messages for months from sheila confirming how Dixie was doing. The Chief of Police even told me that Sheila told him that if she could get Dixie cheaper from the Czech Republic then she would give him the dog at a lesser price. You can confirm this by calling and speaking to Chief Norris at the Barnesville Ohio police department. She had been trying to get this dog from me since January. When I sent her the dog with the agreement she handed her over and continued to tell me lies about how she was doing. Come to find out Dixie was a replacement for their prior dog. So she kept this story going. My second dog i donated had yet to be returned. She said she would return him but hasn't and instead sent a letter saying she was suing me for defamation. We spoke to our attorney and they even called her attorney and never received a response back. My name was taken off their page as a sponsor. Funny right. I have a post she made on facebook saying that Dixie was sold and trained at Ohio Valley K9. If she was honest then why didn't she tell me her plans? Instead she lied and then took credit for my dog. No receipt was ever given for our donations. I know another Veteran who donated 4 puppies and she said when he asked that 3 were struck by lightening and then the 4th died a few days later. She said she had a necrospsy report done and would send it to him. She has yet to do this. Now I know why when I would ask for pictures I never got them. She would always say her camera was broken. Call her local pd. Harrison County and ask them about the dog she sold them. Contract stated the dog was certified and in fact the dog was not. They had to pull the dog and send to training to get its official certification. Call and speak to the Sherriff there. He can confirm this. Since I made this public I have been threatened with violance. One guy named grizzlyddr on facebook threatened me and I have the messages. She had Veterans who follow her saying they will kill me and dispose of my body. I have those messages to. I posted this so others wouldn't get scammed like I did. All I can say is call the PD I mentioned and ask them. You'll get the truth there. Dix was microchipped and the pd had it checked and confirmed the number. Be careful with this woman. Google her husband's name and see what comes up on him. These are facts that are posted and can be proven. If the money was for Dogs4warriors then why sell dixie under her kennel name ohio valley k9? Why not tell the truth? Dixie has a good home and I'm fine with this but she did this all wrong. Why not donate the dog to the PD if she couldn't be a service dog and why lie to me about this. Look at her page. Do you see any dogs that we donated in a service role. I found a post on a law firm stating they wernt even an official 501 c 3 like they were claiming at the time. The official 501 c 3 cake later. They admitted this by saying we are in the works and it had the date. Then they posted back later with the actual date that they were official. I screen shoted this before it could be deleted. I'm a Veteran myself. My dogs helped me and I wanted to give back. Think what you want to but this is a heads up. Be careful with her. Several other people has messaged me about what she did to them.

Look what they did to this Veteran. How is this ok? Makes me wonder what kind of time they are writing off for taxes on the training of these dogs. I'm not sure how all this works with taxes and all but this really does seem shady. From what I have seen and heard from several Veterans who have these dogs is they are nothing but pets.

I know another Veteran who sent his dog there to become a service dog for himself only to call her and never receive any news back. He has no idea where his dog is and is heartbroken. She won't return his calls.
