OK...so now I'm confused...( I like to call them blonde moments) 1. My daughters Service Dog from working bloodlines, who did her job VERY well, would not be concidered a "working dog"??? 2. People actually think it's acceptable to "cross-bred" our GSD's with Mals. I'm really outraged at that one! :-(

LOL Lady Lady LOL Since your daughters Service Dog is from Working Bloodlines she is exactly that: Breed from Working Lines.... If this dog sits her whole life in a backyard she is still from working lines and is a working line dog. Since she is a service dog yes she is an active working dog from working lines. Remember different jobs require different types of dogs. Does this help?

ladywolf, at sometime you need to read and research for yourself. Helmut Raiser makes outrageous statements to evoke thought. If you don't understand that, go google his name and read, read, read. He is very much part of the GSD family and gets frustrated with the direction we're headed, as do many of us.

these are labels pure and simple to identify the two camps of breeders. why do you all have to fight about everythign and make it so personal? we all know some show lines can work, some working lines are built ok and some can't do anything. geessss dont any of you just step back and look at any of this stuff without making it into a personal war or take offense? Myself I don't mind people with strong opinions who are willing to stand up and fight to defend their opinion. If everyone who breeds GSD's the overall breed would be in much better shape vs some who just do it for the money and not the love of the breed. I will agree sometimes (speaking of myself) that we should sometimes be more mature but regardless I appreciate and actually respect anyone who has enough drive and passion to stand up. Anytime you discuss your children or your dogs things get personal. lol

Should there really be a difference at all ?? The showline dogs have proven they can do the work, hense all the schH 3's you see. The working line also prove they can make it the confirmation end of it, hense the KKL1 Why does there have to be such segregation. Blending the two seems to work pretty darn nicely for more folks than care to admit it. :-) all said with a smile !!!

Do right: Dr.Helmut Raiser is certainly not an SV judge, never was and never will be! In his "accidental" and somewhat short-lifed function as "Bundeszuchtwart" (Federal Breed Warden), he was overheard to have made that outrageous statement about the Mali. In a special election, the SV membership voted him out, after woken up rudely out of their temporary insanity fog. Dr. Raiser did not want to accept that and sued the SV in a long court battle, which he ultimately lost. At the end, he was also overheard saying that if he can't win against the SV, he will destroy that organization! He is currently busy writing regulations and by-laws for his soon to be founded new GSD organization, along with the people of the "Züchtergemeinschaft". Before disappearing in his self-elected isolation (Nirwana as somebody else called it, lol), he mad a couple of brief statements expressing his disappointment about the last SV election (Wolfgang Henke was re-elected by a wide margin, defeating Dr. Raiser's favorite and Züchtergemeinschaft-member Ursula Zabel) and writing about "possible" financial mismanagement issues within the SV. One point he made was that the SV spends way too much money in legal fees (hoorray, I wonder why?). The "accused" SV leadership members wrote a counter-declaration which he rudely and respectlessly "corrected/amended" with a red pen. I dared to compare that to my old grade schoolteacher in elementary school, after which Dr. Raiser told me that I was more than geographically far removed to have real knowledge about what was going on within the SV. After a couple of exchanges, we left it at that. This all can be read at www.schaeferhund.net (German forum for working dogs), but to access this particular area of the board, one needs to be an SV member and disclose the full name, address, and SV membership No., before getting authorization (no anonymous posters). BTW, the administrator of that forum did want to know from me what the conscensus in the U.S. between working and show is. I chose to ignore that, after debatting whether I should just have anybody read this message board here for a while. To sum up: Desert Rangers, Dr. Raiser is a real good guy, one to look up to and one that only has the best interest of our dogs in mind (see his (supposed) statement that he is going to destroy the SV).

I did not say I was an expert, I would never claim to be such !! But the statement I made was not wrong ?? A schH Title is a SchH Title right ?? If the dog is VA,V rated and SchH3 then he has proven he has the correct Structure and the ability to work correct ?? If a dog with a SchH3 has a KKL1 then he too has proven correct structure and ability to work, NO ??? If the above statements are Incorrect please feel free to correct me however if they are correct statements please don't make it sound like I'm a bad/ignorant/stupid/uneducated/imbosile/dumb/crazy/dimwitted/ person for making true statements. :-) SchH 3 & KKL1 = working line with correct confirmation and has working ability per the judge on that day of the titles or KKL earned. SchH3 & V or VA = show line with preffered confirmation and working ability per the judge on that day of the titles or rates. Are the above true and correct statements ?? I will add that this is my "understanding" of Titles and Ratings, and am open for correction if I am mistaken.
