Why does it cost $2,250.00 to ship a dog to Holland?

@ Stolen Pets could you please tell us the date that , Amy was registered missing on the Netherlands Cannine  Microchip database ?

@ Popa , nothing is for free in this world ,, if someones offers me 75 USD no questions asked  ,, i would jump through hoops .

and as Keith has said why does it cost 2,250. USD ?   What size Sky Kennel does Amy need and what is the weight of  Amy ?

Not sure when she was reported missing, I guess right after the owner found out that instead of keeping their promise not to sell her right away they found out she was sold/given to the trader in Hollandscheveld. I have asked the owner, perhaps he had the exact date. [UPDATE: it was in december]

If we find out who dumped Amy this person will be persecuted too.

Vaccination-papers and ownership papers are now with the person who is fostering Amy. She needs to gain 5 kg before she is allowed on the plane. For the people who missed it: Amy is now 25kg (perhaps a little more because the finder took such good care of her) so 25+5=30

Again: the money is all for getting Amy back to the Netherlands, medical care, vaccinations and for the people that took (and are taking) care of Amy in the USA. 

As soon as the interview is on TV of course I will post the link here.

I have one last question: how big should the box be so Amy can be transported in a comfortable way? Ans which brands are approved by the flightcompanies?

And no, it's not a million we collected, that's not what we asked for. We collected the trip back home for Amy, her medical care and all that a mistreated and abandanoned dog that was traded by crooks needs!  

But most of all we collected loads of heartwarming comments of people who really care and have respect for the bond between humans and their dogs. And we are very thankful for that! It moved Amy's owners to tears. The money that went over our goal also goes to Amy and her owners. If it's more than they need is will be donated to other causes for animals in need. Or perhaps another transport back home of a stolen dog that ended up in the USA....
