No more details about how Amy went missing before she is home safely and the matter has been investigated until the core. It won't be difficult to find out who sold Amy and who bought her. Just a matter of time. 

If some people want to persist in distrusting our fundraising to get Amy back home, judging us without even reading and do some research for themselves it hurts but so be it.   

We are very grateful too all the people that helped with or without donations so Amy can finally go back home as soon as she is fit enough.

Stolen Pets, this is great news, and I'm so happy that everything has fallen into place to return Amy to her NL home.

As for crate size, in the US the crate must be large enough in height that the dog can stand and sit without the tips of the dog's ears touching the inner roof of the shipping crate. Not knowing how tall Amy is, it's hard to speculate on what size will meet that requirement, but here's a website that provides a clear explanation of how the dog should be measured to determine the minimum crate size needed. That same site has a lot of good info on shipping pets by air, quite helpful for anyone who has no experience with doing so and updated whenever there are changes made by the airlines as to what they will and will not accept as approved for international transport of pets.

As for brands of crates, you can't go wrong with the SkyKennel or VariKennel brands [they are made by the same company, Doskocil].

StolenPets,  you have always seemed a genuine and worthy organisation to me;

and I am very glad to hear that Amy is now back in Holland with her original

owner.  I also realise there may be details deliberately withheld by you because

you don't want to jeopardise a possible criminal prosecution, or two.  So I do not

think Lanhua was asking the right questions, or reading your answers properly -

eg  "December" would have been enough of an answer, why would we need

the exact date ?   Likewise I think Joanro was off the mark.  She was at least

civil about it, I think Lanhua is plain rude.  But you cannot be unaware that people

can be naturally suspiscious, especially if they haven't got involved with any of your

other posts in the past;  its a fact that there are a lot of scammers out there !

Having said all that, I do have one or two questions  / observations myself, which do

not seem to have come up yet:

1)  I hope that the Website reference given you by Hexe is helpful, it may be too 

late re Amy's case but its the sort of info any international rescue should keep tabs

on.   BTW   I have found most airlines will themselves tell you, if you ask them, what

types & sizes of transport boxes they will take.

2)  I was surprised that you said Amy's paperwork was with the US fosterers.  That

does seem to imply you knew far more about who had imported her and who was

involved in losing  or abandoning her and in letting her get into that appalling condition,

than you have been prepared to say in your posts about this case.

3)  Not sure who & where the 30 kilo figure came from ?  But it seems unlikely air

travel would be refused for that reason alone, a bitch on the way back up to a healthy

average weight should be ok to fly while within 5k of the target ?   It certainly seems

an insubstantial reason for refusing the lovely offer of help from Staatsmacht.

 

Plus I was quite surprised that as far as I'm aware there's been no mention of this

[quite sensational] case in the English press ?

It is one thing to be suspicious and another to flat out call this person a scammer with absolutely no proof.  And then to be rude, obnoxious and down right crude says a lot about the people writing these posts. You want proof? Well so do I of these outlandish claims of being a scammer. We deal with scammers on a daily basis but we do not do things without proof. Maybe if those who can't seem to provide proof but can label and harass this MEMBER would possibly count to 10 before they start typing just maybe they would see exactly how their posts are being seen by the masses.

Remember, if you don't want to donate, just skip the damn thread instead of coming here with no PROOF and harassing this MEMBER. Asking outlandish questions and demanding an answer, lol.

@Hexe, thanks very much for the info. I passed it through to the owners. The flightcompany wanted to know the size of the box but she couldn't tell because she had never transported a dog by air. So your info is more than welcome! Thanks for your support!

@Hundmutter Thanks very much for taking your time to reply. Amy is not home yet, she will have to recover for a while to be fit enough for the journey.

As for the paperwork: I meant the ownership papers that still were at her vet in the Netherlands an the proof of the Rabies vaccination in the US. I have no copy of those papers yet. If there was proof on those papers about who sold and bought Amy we still can't make that public, because of the laws on privacy. For Amy's owners this is a very emotional and confusing time. They have to organize all kinds of things for Amy's return and still have not been able to prepare for a court-case against the people who mistreated (mistraded?) their beloved dog. But they sure will get juridical advice as soon as Amy is back safe and sound and their minds are at peace again.

And about the scamming-accusations: Of course I can understand that people want to know if their donantions will be spend well. I myself have been scammed too and I would never give money to a "good cause" I don't trust. But if our organization was not genuine we would never have been able to get the opportunity to get a donation-page on www.geef.nl, because they have asked and recieved all our legal paperwork and checked it out. Just because I am not allowed to go into too much detail about what happened to Amy does not mean the money will be spent on champaign or whatever hurtful suggestions were made. I cannot to more at the time than sending you all the links to the media-articles about Amy and photo's and updates. 

There will be a lot of Media attention in the USA when Amy will be reunited with her owner and also when she returns to the Netherlands. I will send all the proof of that as soon as it is available.

Let me just add to what Hexe said about the box, as  I flew a pup international a few weeks ago. For international flights, there must be 3" in between the tips of the ears and the top of the crate. The airlines are strictly enforcing this rule.

I shipped five dogs and puppies internationally last year. As long as the tips of the ears don't touch the roof of the crate, they accept them. If it was three inches, I would have had to use a seven hundred crate for two dogs that actually were accepted in five hundred crates....that's a huge difference in cost for crates and shipping fees.
