I will always and forever keep 2 signs hanging in my house... "My house isn't under construction...Dogs and Kids live here" & "May I always be the kind of person my dogs think I am" LOL

by spook101 on 24 February 2007 - 02:02

Echo, you said: "I would add that each of us has a right to our own opinions/feelings. and should understand that to be true. We might not like someones opinion/feeling but that person has a right to it, it is they're own and no one elses. Hope that makes sense." Yet if you had not come into this thread attacking people for their opinion none of this would have happened. You are manipulative and will tell what ever lie you think is necessary.

by triodegirl on 24 February 2007 - 05:02

I've been trying my best not to get involved in this thread, but guess I'll add my two cents and suffer the consequences as I can no longer hold my tongue. Echo, you can't even say you respect Hodie without adding that it is partly her fault (and others like her) when newbies like Mysti leave this board. That is absolute bullshit. You also think because you've had 3 litters of pups you now qualify as some kind of expert. Trust me, someone like Hodie has forgotten more than you will ever know. You owe her a genuine apology without all the qualifiers. I pray she will come back. Echo, you also said everyone is entitled to their opinion, so now you know mine. BTW, my name is Sue Kraft and I will e-mail you my phone number and address if you think that will make me more credible. I also consider myself one of the clueless, so fire at will if it will make you feel better about your conduct.

So... Suggesting that WE as a board help someone new get started in the "right" direction is a bad thing ?? ok that's a new one. No expert here sorry, you have me confused with someone who has much much more expeirience that I have as I am one of the "newbies" that is so hated here. I did not attack spook I asked him a question if that's an attack wow then there are plenty of attacks here daily. If I owe Hodie an appology I offer it now honestly I was not directing that post at "HER" I was directing it to everyone who freaked out and suddenly jumped off the wagon and abandoned this girl when they learned she was a "puppy mill" because she had bred a single litter. Do I agree with her breeding well it does not matter really It is after all a free country, we can shoo this girl away and have her do as she pleases(because it is a free country) or we can "try" to show her a "better" way (as folks here have done for me Many thanks to them !!) and hope she heeds the advice. Read the first post I made on this thread, It was in response to Spooks snide comment about a thread I had started, But all I did was ask 3 questions, add a comment of big tasks, and finish with a request for contact. Shame on me, Big ATTACKER I am. Once again the comment of YOU(in that post) that hodie took I was meaning her and her alone, was meant at everyone here who went bonkers. LMH was right in that Myself and SPOOK were BOTH off topic !!! I was NOT alone in that, Thank YOU(triodegirl) !! I really felt and still feel we are all missing the boat here with the newcomers to this breed, But hey keep going this way and see how many people you turn away that will continue to breed in any old way they wish, OR take them in give them some direction and maybe just maybe then some learning will take place, direction will be taken, and god forbid things might improve. OR maybe the newcomers are NOT worth it, Maybe we should just ignore the younger generation of Trainers/breeders/handlers/ after all we can do SchH when were 80+ right ? We will live forever to be the "guardians" of this breed right??? That was the point I was trying to make, that maybe using some tact and offering some education rather than prosecution WE(all of the board) could make a posative difference in the way an individual is "thinking"/"practicing" And I will admit maybe I did not "illustrate" it well, For that I will also appologize. I will appologize for the broad spectrum use of the word YOU in my post. I will absolutely appologize to Hodie if she felt it was directed at her, It absolutely WAS NOT !!!!!!!!! I will appologize to the entire board for going off topic in response to SPOOKS snide little comments when I was seeking further input/info, Shame on me, for wanting to broaden my mind. But I will not appologize for thinking that WE (entire population) are possibly missing many golden opportunities to "guide" newcomers into "right" directions. Schools have classrooms and teachers, We(all of us) have our elder GSD breeders/trainers/handlers, OR DO WE ?????????

The sad fact of the matter is people like Misty have no intention of changing, it's all about the money for her. Notice how a few people asked her questions about what she was doing. Did she answer them? No, she got defensive. That's what people do when they know they are wrong but don't give a damn. They get nasty then run away, because after all, what can she say?

Also, when I'm 80 (if I ever get there) I doubt I will be able to handle a working bred GSD, but I will still have a GSD, a showline GSD bred from titled dogs because I want to support those who are doing everything they can to keep away from the American Show Shepherd, & to me, that means supporting those that follow the rules of the SV.

by EchoMeadows on 24 February 2007 - 07:02

sueincc, You are possibly absolutely 100% correct. But do you also concede the possibility of guiding at least some of the newbies into more correct direction ?? (keyword possibility) I don't HIDE anything. Spook HIDES ALL !! My email is avaialable, my website is available my phone number is available, anyone, anytime, and in any fashion they choose can contact me, visit my website, see what's going on, what I'm doing/not doing and so on. I don't HIDE !!! And talk about someone who gets defensive and NEVER answers questions, Just read the past 6 months (hell for that matter read above) how many questions have been asked of spook and how many he answered, NONE, how many he got defensive over and tried to play the "attack" card, EVERY single one !! Sueincc, back to mysti, well given the chance maybe she could have said, Oh my well I guess I messed up how should I go about this ??? had we(all the board)given her the opportunity to do so. But you(sueincc) could be right. I have to agree with that possibility as well.

by EchoMeadows on 24 February 2007 - 07:02

sueincc, me too when I'm 80 :-) Hope I get there. LOL. And I agree supporting those that folow the rules of the SV. we are not there yet but we're working on it. :-) For now that's all I can do, I'm honest about it, I'm upfront about it, I do the best I can and keep pushing forward and working my dogs, and working toward titles. and yes in the meantime my dogs help support themselves. Heck I even get a bit of flack from one of the Training Directors for wanting to KKL, but I just smile and say, It's what we want, We want to be able to follow the SV Standards and Rules. We will get there, but for us and many I think it takes time, especially if your working for it, Rather than Buying the dogs Titled and KKL already.

The way I see it, the "elders" shouldn't be held responsible for the beginners' mistakes or inability or refusal to learn. The information is out there. Mouth shut and ears open is the best way to learn in the dog world.
