Ok

He's a beauty, Jenni. You know me, I like a pretty dog...life is too short to live with an  ugly one LOL.

Ibrahim, did you see the answers to your questions?

Thanks, Blitzen. I cannot imagine him being ugly, given his parents.... though stranger things have happened. He was born with a massive muzzle, though- almost too blocky. I am a bit curious to see how he turns out. I admit, I've been a bit spoiled on looks and I firmly believe when you've got health and temperament where you want it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with breeding good looks on top. Total package is my favorite...high hopes for this little tyke but trying not to get too excited. I've got 2 years before I'll know much. If he is a male version of his grandma I'll be on cloud 9. Regular Smile

From pedigree I can see Capri is mother of Dallas, so the puppy is granson of Capri, I think it was a one puppy litter, am I right? But I can't find why it was a one puppy only and if the sickness you had in kennel is behind it.

Ibrahim, the discussion actually began with this thread. Read that one first, and then this thread will make sense. Thumbs Up

Hexe, thanks a lot, it seems I missed that thread, now all is clear, I was feeling lost and Jenni didn't help much, you are great as usual, I wish her female gave birth to more pups, that way she would have had better chances for another great puppy (Capri).

Ibrahim, I think Jenni's probably stretched a little thin at the moment. Realized you probably missed the beginning of the story, in which case this part of it would make anyone's head swim with questions. Glad I could help out.

I'm sorry I didn't help you much, Ibrahim. I didn't understand that you were questioning why there were only a 2 puppies in her litter. My answer to that would be "that just happens sometimes for reasons only Mother Nature knows."

I took your questions at face value only and thus referred you back to the posts that contained the info you requested.  Sorry to seem lazy or "unhelpful," but as hexe said, I am stretched very thin right now. When there are puppies on the ground, there are visitors with deposits who would like to see progress. In between visitors who have paid good money for my full attention and deserve nothing less, I have the pups and my other dogs, one of which has had 2 surgeries since December 23. I also have a preschool aged boy who is not yet totally self-sufficient. Wink Smile

I did answer each question you asked in this post, maybe not in a specific reply, but the info was in the first post and in my long response to hexe. I did not see your other question; I only saw your "I'm waiting." My apologies for not being more helpful, and a big thanks to hexe for answering more completely and for understanding my slow replies.

Who is the mother of the pup? Is she grand daughter of Capri?

Is there only one pup? what sex?

Was there more puppies and they died?

No problem at all Jenni, cheer up, wish you all the best. Your starting post was too difficult English for a foreigner

Ibrahim, the mother of the puppy in the picture is a female Jenni imported in 2014, Beauty Krasnooko [call name is Megy]. Megy is unrelated to Capri, as you can see by this pedigree Jenni posted the link for on page 1 of this thread, but was bred to a Capri son to produce this puppy, who is the bi-colored Capri grandson. A day or two before this male puppy was born to Megy, the dam started having a blood-tinged discharge, but when the vet did the ultrasound, the two puppies [which is what were seen on an x-ray done earlier in the pregnancy] both seemed to be OK. Unfortunately, apparently one of the two pups was stillborn, so this turned out to be a one-puppy litter.

As for why the litter was so small, that's hard to say--could be the timing was actually a bit off when the breeding took place, as Jenni mentioned that Megy was in standing heat for quite a lengthy period of time...perhaps she ovulated several days later than the very last mating, and there was only enough viable sperm at that time to fertilize two eggs.  Perhaps there were more pups earlier on in the pregnancy but the mother resorbed them after exposure to whatever the imported youngsters, Veronika & a brother, brought with them.  It's likely the reason for the low conception rate in this instance will never be determined, and it might never happen again; or, it could just be where this particular female's fertility level has settled, or the stud dog might have had an off day, or....who knows.

Jenni also has another litter of 9 Capri grandkids, a repeat breeding of her F-litter out of Aria and sired by Boy vom Zorra. There's more info about that breeding on Jenni's website.
