And just when you'd think the Palin thing couldn't be any more disturbing, you find out that the dog is allegedly the kid's trained service dog, obtained from the non-profit Puppy Jake Foundation which is SUPPOSED to be devoted to training service dogs for veterans.  A dog which the foundation originally claimed to have donated to the Palins--though how their 6 year old kid qualifies as a disabled VETERAN confounds me--although the organization is now backing away from that assertion.

didn't this women come close to being the leader of the most powerful country on earth, no not china, america.

by Blitzen on 05 January 2015 - 13:01

The woman did NOT come close to becoming  "the leader of the most powerful country on earth, no not china, america". It was not a close election.

Obama would go on to win a decisive victory over McCain, winning both the popular vote and the electoral college, with 365 electoral votes to McCain's 173; he received the largest percentage of the popular vote for a Democrat in nearly a half-century

The Palin's can't afford to pay for a service dog?

i hope we can stay on subject. I point out to the children old enough to understand and the adults smart enough to understand ; dogs who do not want confrontation with another dog go nose to rear to see who the other dog is. it is a sign of investigation not conflict. Too many times a close face to face encounter is seen as dominent expression by the dog and needs to be dealt with. A warning nip by the dog makes it a ''problem dog''. Children are far more important than dogs, period. teach your children well.

Just so it's clear, my issue isn't politically influenced...I don't care whose kid it is, they shouldn't be using ANY dog as a step-stool, and they especially shouldn't be using a dog that's been specially trained to be THEIR service assistance dog as such!

A prime example of an uniformed uneducated parent.  Here is her response to PETA.  Too long to cut and past so I will post the link if you care to read, not apologetic or even acknowledging she could have used the opportunity to education her son and the general public on proper respect of his service dog, any dog for that matter (not that I am a fan of PETA, in fact think they are wacko).

It's funny how Peta said No Comment on a photo of Ellen degeneris adopted child did the same thing

by hexe on 07 January 2015 - 06:01

Michael10, Ellen DeGeneres does NOT have ANY children, adopted or otherwise.

The photo you refer to was posted on the Ellen DeGeneres Show facebook page, with the comment, 'Well, that's one way to reach the sink.'  As far as PETA commenting on it or not, that's on them--but anyone who says there weren't any complaints about it when that pic was posted on the show's facebook page is merely regurgitating the sound bites they heard on Fox News or read on Breitbart. When you actually go to the post--which is why I included the link, which I took the trouble to find and read as well--you will see that there was a SIGNIFICANT lashing out by the people who follow the page, condemning the posting of such a photo and decrying the depiction of a dangerous action that is harmful to the animal and could result in harm to the child as well. But the kid isn't DeGeneres', nor the dog, nor the photo, so let's not spin that into something it most certainly is NOT.

As for Palin's defense of '...at least Trig didn't eat the dog...', that's a lame and bigoted comment to make, since the only reason the President consumed dog meat was because he was a minor, living in Malaysia, who was served what is a culturally acceptable and customary dish for the locale.  You know, the same way eating moose, bear, seal, caribou and whale meat is culturally acceptable and customary for the people who live in Alaska, and eating beef is likewise in hundreds of places but in India it's a religious taboo to some of the country's residents. Also, contrary to the claim made by some of the shills, the President never said he 'liked eating dog meat', he merely acknowledged that he did not find it unpalatable at the time. That's not the same as saying it's someone's favorite food that they just can't wait to enjoy again.

Respect towards dogs and to the child is totally ignored here. If the dog of the family  is OK with it and lets family child violate his natural instincts then it may be safe,  but it teaches kids that it may be OK with any dog and then we get horrible story in news. Also those children eventually grow up   and let their children do it to other dogs and so on. Same is truth about these cute  pictures being continually made public in media and  even in advertisement by sellers of dogs who use this dangerous perception as a sales point.  I think that this is thus wrong in principle. Like playing on a street.  Dangerous.
