Doesn't matter if it's the family dog or a stray...a sixty some odd pound kid standing on a prone dog is harmful to the dog whether the dog tolerates the abuse or not; and especially a dog as small a the poor dog put into the Palin household as a "service dog". She has no respect for animals, calling animals she claims to hunt, "wild protein". Wild animals of any species are more than "protein". With that attitude, she probably doesn't care if she makes a kill shot or gut shot. So how could she be capable of teaching her kids respect for any animals, dogs or wild life. She puts her disrespect for the unfortunate "service dog" on display by calling it "a lazy dog". Too bad that "lazy dog" didn't get up and bite the bitch on her fat arse.

Palin had intended the photo to show the resourcefulness of her son, who has Down syndrome and called the family pooch a "precious part" of her world. That may be short of understanding what may hurt a dog but does not justify hatred which is really hatred of republicans.

It is big hateful  step from :  “I believe wild protein are put here for man's responsible use” - which is a biblical concept,  to "she probably doesn't care if she makes a kill shot or gut shot. " And to call her "bitch".

Just because someone likes wild organic meat/protein does not mean that she disrespects animals or  wild animals and c\does not care if she makes"gut shot"!.  I know that most  hunters respect, love and care for  wildlife more then city folks who never even seen a deer other then in front of their car just before they hit it. Hunting is a most natural way to get food. And to shoot wild animal is in my book more humane that to kill them in a slaughter house  out of sight of squeamish people who then purchase it neatly packaged for consumption and eat it as a "product" rather then something which had life and and needs to be respecter for dying so that they can eat it.  Killing a wild animal for meat gives you more appreciation of life and for what you eat.

Hans, the reference to the Palins' hunting was only raised when the woman herself pulled the cheap shot about her child not eating the dog--bottom line is that instead of taking pictures of the situation and trying to spin it as she did, she should have put her damn phone down, gone to her child and put a stop to him standing on his 'service dog'.  That was the story in a nutshell, and IMO it remains the story--that, and the fact that she clearly wasn't supervising her special needs kid, and I think we both would agree that if the dog had moved and caused the kid to fall and hit his head on the floor, the dog would no longer be a 'beloved family member' of the Palins.

I believe the woman is a goof, and doesn't respect any animal, dogs or wild life, has nothing to do with her political affiliation. I hunt, I have eaten my share of venison, squirrel, ocean fish, but I respect them...... She's not "most people", she's an idiot, that's my opinion of her. If you like her, that's your problem. Hexe, I agree with you.

Disliking what Palin did does not equate to hating all Republicans.  I don't like any celebrity or politician posting something that can lead to an animal or child getting hurt.  Standing on a dog is not respecting the dog, period.  As for hunting, I have no problem with responsible respectful hunting.  By that I mean hunting for food and respecting the animal during and after the hunt.  I grew up with friends who hunted and some would shoot at anything that moved and then be too lazy to chase it down and finish the job with respect and mercy.  I have an ex who is a member of Safari Club International and it galls me to no end that it is about hunting for trophies more than anything else.  I grew up with learning to respect the animal that was hunted so that we could eat.

@ mind hunt. No it doesn't . I did nto and do not dispute that the child standing on a dog is not good and I am disliking it as well.  But calling Palin  bitch  and subsequently Idiot , who shoots animals in a gut does strike me as an extreme  hate most likely inspired by hate of republicans. BTW I am not republican ( or democrats. for that matter and I do not care about Palin one way or another. She is non consequential to me. I just do not like people talk like that about others.

I am sorry for that. Not.

Speaking for myself, Palin's political affiliation is immaterial. To call her a bitch does a disservice to the female dog lying at my feet, and all others of that gender. I find the woman to be mean, vindictive, completely self-serving, overly impressed with herself, low-class and utterly lacking in couth, with far less intelligence than she wants us to believe she posesses, and, in a word, malevolent.  I harbor similar feelings about John Edwards for his reprehensible disregard for the pain he caused his late wife and their childen, and he couldn't be further from a Republican than chalk is to cheese.

In both cases, I abhor the person for WHO they have shown themselves to be--not the political party they have chosen to identify themselves with.

Hexe, well said. I believe she makes reference to act of hunting wild life in a feable attempt at shock effect and folksy, country girl self image. You're correct, Hexe, so l take back saying the dog should bite the bitch in the arse. Instead, I will say the abused dog should bite the hag in the arse.
BTW, ( not you, Hexe) l said, because of her lack of respect for animals, "she probably doesn't care if she makes a gut shot or not." That's not the same as saying she shoots animals in the gut. If you are going to paraphrase, at least get it right, and this thread is about opinions on the op, not your problems with my posts. You do assume much about why I find her dispicable, your politics belong on off topic.
