We feed Taste of the Wild to our german shepherds.  We use Fromm for our show chihuahuas and the protein content is only around 24 so should be fine for German Shepherds.

I love Victor, IMO the best dog food I've ever fed in 50+ years of dog ownership. Small, firm stools, a massive beautiful coat, perfect weight, clean teeth, great physical condition in my 7  year old female. I can't say enough about that brand.

Mayby they have taken it out now, dont know.

I used to get it elivere in white 40lb. kennel bags.

What should be the ideal percentage of protein and fat in dog food for German Shepherd? I see many 4 or 5 stars dog foods are with >30% protein and some even pushing to 40%. However, I have heard some said that the protein level should not be so high for GSD. Is that correct and why?

That Fromm talk is B.S. Gouda, quoting another forum as evidence is not really very  scientific.

In 2006 or 2008 all menadione was removed from any Fromm formulas. Regardless, small doses of menadione are not a concern like large doses are. Again, it pays to really understand a controversy before deciding which side you're on and CERTAINLY before bashing a company!
