The price SOUNDS ok, but it's awfully grainy...seems there are other foods out there with better price points for that much grain.

I do like the Victor and for the Teal bag I pay $1 a pound

They have higher and lower prices

I used to feed Fromm and I was having trouble maintaining weight on my dogs, especially my male... I would have to cut back the amount of kibble to keep from the bouts of diarrhea. I switched to Orijien after I heard Fromm was changing its formula, and I had hopes that the higher Kcal would help... but I actually had terrible bouts of diarrhea. So I am back on Royal Canin now, and I am having good success. The dogs coats are darker and putting on weight. I am able to feed larger amounts and have had consistent stools.

Did you by chance go from Royal Canin to Fromm?  I only ask because the dogs could have had a hard time adjusting to a food with richer ingredients so to speak.  I fed briefly years ago until I started researching dog kibble more.  I am not at all a fan of the ingredient list or the fact that my 55 lb female's suggested amount of food was like 5-6 cups.  That is a crapload!  Literally!  Glad it works for you, but I can't go back to that.  I have no issues with DN, but so far, my one female who is my guinea pig is doing great on Fromm.  I am pretty sure I will add it to my kennel.

You're able to feed larger amounts of RC w/out diarrhea because it's full of cheap fillers and stool hardeners, and is not nearly as rich in meat as Fromm or other super premiums.

Yes I went from RC to Fromm... fed Fromm for over two year, and then Orijien for near 12 months. (It was not just an overnight switch) My male has never been big, 80 lbs. max... but he got down to 60 lbs and I could not get weight on him. We went to 3 feedings per day and still could not get weight on. Yes I agree that Fromm and Orijien have great ingredients. However they are too rich for my male. He was switched over to RC a couple of months prior to his escapade with a beer cuzie. The fabric corkscrewed through his gut.  Doc had to perform 3 entrotomys and removed 14in from his lower gi. We are still on RC and he has had no set backs what so ever. I used to bash the ingredients too... but fact is that my males coat is darker, thicker and he doesn't have bouts of diarrhea. In fact his food drive has never been more. He is now back up to 78 lbs. Bash it as some may... but for my guy, proof is in the puddin' and I am not cleaning up the diarrhea!!

Agree mewoodjr, use what works for your dog.  My young boy was like that on Origen 6 fish, just was too rich for him, changed to Acana Pacifica/mixed with Pork/Butternut squash and does great.  He could not take the puppy RC so went to raw, did not do that great on raw either (raw for about l l/4 year) now Acana.  Go figure.  looks great, great energy, no more bouts of squirts, etc...  Seems to work for him.  My other two sammies did great on Orijen 6 fish??  See so use what works for your dog.  Great day,  Nan
