Thank you, Blitzen. This sucks pretty badly. I am so far away; even if I left this morning, I'd not be there until evening and even then, what can I do there? When it rains, it pours. Really hoping his youth and thus far, good health, will pull him through. Only suspect in triggering this is that he was dewormed yesterday morning.

Jen,

So sorry to hear this. He is stunning!

I have shared this thread(kind of puts a face to the situation) & your gofundme link everywhere I could think of.

I wish I could do more, but it's been a rough winter for us too.

Please keep us updated as possible.

Wish you the best for your horse. I had surgery done on a stallion of mine some 27 years ago at the end of our season on the road, for intestinal blockage. He survived and recovered well, but it cost me everything he and I earned that summer.

Thank you both. Every bit helps, and that means both money AND just sharing!!!

I'm so very sorry to hear of your Friesian Jen.  I too had a Friesian years ago and understand only too well how close we get to them.  They are truly big dogs ;-)   I sure wish I had the funds to assist you - truly!  I can only send you all my positive energy, thoughts and prayers.  I will hold good thoughts that he recovers quickly!  HUGS!!!!

P.S. Here's a pic of my boy:

Jenni, that's a HUGE red flag! In my single days, I shared a house with another horse lover. Her mare had nearly died from colic/intestinal blockage, which happened a day or two after being wormed!

She noticed the wormer was pulled from the market not long afterwards.

The surgery was done at Guelph, and they allowed her to do monthly payments. Even more than a year after the surgery, the veins in her neck were so sclerosed that the vet couldn't do an IV injection on her when she needed to be tranquilized for having her teeth floated. After a long summer day with her head down grazing at pasture, her head and upper neck would be noticeably swollen, too!

I will share this everywhere I can, but am still really, really struggling myself.

Wish the timing were different, so I could help...  :(

Thank you all, those who have given just a few dollars and apologized- I AM THANKFUL. Every bit helps, no amount is trivial. I have given just a few dollars myself to folks in need. If you can't help financially, please just share the link and maybe the link to this thread so people see I'm a real person, known to many, not some Nigerian scammer ;)

Again, thanks everyone for whatever kind of support you can provide. He has been taken into surgery now, after it became clear it was necessary and this was not a reaction that was going to resolve itself.

It was asked privately about other way to help if you didn't have a credit card or didn't want to use gofundme.com. He is at this clinic and when they reopen tomorrow, I am sure they would allow payments to his account if you give them my name/his name/info.

His doctor (tonight, anyway) is Dr. Brakenhoff, who by all accounts is very qualified.

Hi Jen...I just got a prepaid CC in the mail which is a rebate for my tires, I am trying to donate it. It keeps getting declined, I called Master Card and they said it is getting rejected because the GOFUND is trying to charge $11 and some odd cents above what the donation is, do they normally charge a service fee ( I am not in the US).
