I sent Oli an email and he came on but he is so busy he hasn't emailed me back yet so I just added 2 and 2 and came up with 3 and figured he had fixed it. But it does me no good to try and check it because of the admin permissions.

I will keep reminding Oli to work on assigning permissions in the next weeks, until then you can send me a link to the dog and any changes you would like done and I will get to them as fast as I can.

Blitzen I'm in the same boat. I cannot edit my main dog's (my stud dog) pedigree because apparently his breeder added him. I know *I* added him originally as a puppy (and I also have added and continued to update several dogs for good friends of mine who have been titling their dogs but are not "computer people), but years back some idiot person kept deleting my dog's pedigrees and pedigrees of other dogs from his breeder. I have no idea who it was or why. Now I realize that my dog must've been re-added by her at some point after he was deleted several times (I did contact admin about this back in the day) so now I'm locked out of his pedigree. He earned a new title this past weekend.

GSD be glad to help you with that. You pushed hard to get Oli to do this and I agreed with you that it needed to be done I will share the work.

You will not be locked out for long. It just takes time to get the sytems in place. I honestly wish the systems had been created first but time was important because everyday that went by it allowed more non-sense to happen.

Western, once the systems are in place you can help out all you want. If I get over ran which is possible I will need help when it happens and I will be glad to share the work load with whoever wants to help.

We are getting close to 2 million pedigrees and this just needed to be done to stop the malicious and other non-sense that happens with the pedigrees. We realize that 99% of all users do the right thing but we can't really stop the other 1% unless we do this. And 1% can do a lot of damage quickly.

BTW, you can edit at any time by contacting any admin with a link to the dog and the change.

I was just able to edit my dog's pedigree using the "beta" version so it looks like I'm all set! I suppose I should have the pedigree transfered to me eventually anyway but will deal with that later once there is a process in place. This is not anything urgent so I won't bug admin about it now. Glad something has been done to prevent the trolling and sabotage of pedigrees.

When I purchased Star, there were many, many gaps in her pedigree on the database. I had a lot of fun researching her ancestors and filling in the gaps. It was a bit like playing detective, or being on a treasure hunt. It gave me a real charge to get all those loose ends tied up, and see an unbroken line right back to Horand! I also tried to fill in missing info like colour, registration number and whatever else I could find available. And those of you who know me will know I also corrected spelling errors whenever I found them... Red Smile  You would not believe how many duplicate entries are caused by something a simple as a missing space, misplaced capital, single letter change (von instead of vom) or dash!  Those of the mods involved in removing all the duplicates will be glad to tell you all about it, I'm sure!

Sooo, if you want help with keeping pedigrees in order, I'll be happy to be involved.
