Dante vom Steinbeckland - current personal best of 19'10" by camera for straight distance and 22' for air retrieve...  #5 all-time GSD in Splash Dogs - #1 GSD last year and thus far this year.  He has ZERO excuse for touching the jump in IPO!  ;)

In the picture above the grass was level with the hill that he jumped from... So the grass was about 4 ft high... I had tossed his ball from the road where the truck was parked.. Bruno took off and jumped from the top of the hill. A friend of mine just happened to get the shot of him jumping.

I know you said GSD, but this lab was raised by GSDs, if that counts :)

Dang, aren't you guys worried about the dogs hurting themselves;  I have always been so careful with my guys, don't jump too high;  no running in mid-air;  please slow down, slow in the house which is all tile floors, etc. etc.  Hell, I don't think it has gotten me anywhere.  My boy was so uncoordianted as a youngster, now 2 years old, he is somewhat better, but geez, not great.  I doubt he would even dock dive even though he loves water.   Just curious, guess you gotta let them do what they are good at and what they want to do.  Looks like fun to me,  Thx again for sharing beautiful photo's.  Nan

I hear you Nan. Martin has learned to be very careful when he throws a toy on land for Bosco; Bosco has way more drive than common sense. This is a dog that ran head first into the corner of our giant barn and knocked out four teeth. The vet said that the impact was so forceful that he was shocked that Bosco didn't shatter his lower jaw. Bosco didn't even miss a beat after knocking his teeth out.

Obvously not a recent pic, but one that I like for the dynamics of it.
