Bunsdishep: Iams is probably in line with Royal Canin. a lesser quality food.

Also you can get Victor at Chewy.com, they will ship direct to you no charge for shipping, great prices also. Nan

What about earthborn i can get it 35 for a 28 pound bag is it high quality ? my only chance of using victor is to buy online and if dogs too thin i wonder how good it is ?

Well Bundishep: It may not be too low calorie for all dogs; if it is around 400/500 kcal/cup it should be OK. Some dogs just burn too fast and furious. Mine are OK with most kibbles BUT I also supplement with RAW. So given that, I really cannot compare. Some just need more calories to sustain themselves. Nan

Chewy does not sell Victor. www.sportdogfood.com does.

Bundishep, several people that I know of including myself have had problems putting weight on with Victor.

Its good info to hear what works well in other kennels or what doesnt.

Just like any dry dog food line, Victor has several choices
Watch out for the % of protein in each.
Several have 32 % and that is only if you work your gsd and it uses the intake properly

You can ruin a dogs digestion(liver) by too high protein. Slimmer dogs work better and Victor also has choices of fat content. Gsd need higher fat content if working and active. Also supplementing with a junk free yogurt is good. And or raw meats
Mountain High plain yogurt.

www.mountainhigh.com. No aspartame no junk and puppies love it in their food

Iam's is owned by Nestles. !! Candy company n very marketing concerned not dog oriented
Reading labels and knowing the ingredients you cannot pronounce is critical in this market

For more info on chewy they have two main warehouses one on east coast and one by las vegas it looks like only three states are taxed on shipments. They will not price match.
