I'm not really thinking about size either, just the picture the dog presents when in a stack. Nothing more. If I can't see the dog, I can't comment on anything more.

Okay, I will challenge Susie this time and say Quoran looks more beautiful to me than ballack and more correct Teeth SmileTongue Smile

I like Yuri too - phenotypically that is.

Only thing that Ballack supercedes Quoran is in the topline

No problem, all of them look good, that´s for sure, no matter if I like them or not.
It´s just personal choice, no dog is perfect.
I´m just thinking about the breed, and that includes working ability ( the WILL to work ), size, and weight ( health given at this point ).
We should only give VA titles to good working dogs that are within the standard, and that showed that at least the majority of their offsring does show the same traits.
Just dreaming...

What I really like about Quoran is his size and weight, a good step in the right direction, absolutely not typical for a 2/3 linebreeding on Vegas.I guess it´s my Vegas anymosity ...

Absolutely correct Susi

Oh Blitzen, Yuri is very close to Quoran in type, very close, but I admit Yuri has better topline and better tailset

Teeth Smile Yes that is the Susie I know

What I notice is that all of the top VAs have deeper than should rears, some have steeper toplines than others, I did not check thoroughly but think Djambo has least stifle turn then Labo, though it is still more than what standard calls for. Some VAs are too wet ( opposite of dry)

Ibrahim, I'm probably going to get shot for saying this, but refine the heads on any of these Va dogs, make them look less overdone and more athletic, and give them a flatter/straighter topline and you have an ASL.  The angulation is not much different anymore and I'm guessing the BSZS had its share of hock walkers and cowhocks too.  More GSL's may have shorter and stronger pasterns and better feet as do some ASL's but neither are consistently great.  I think ASL's have much better side gait and better shoulder opening. The movement on some GSL's is painful for me to watch while it's not easy to see most ASL coming at you. I'm not going to talk about temperaments, only conformation. Pros and cons for both IMO.

Remember when I photo shopped that Va dog's topline and he looked very much like an ASL? Can't remember who the dog was now.
