I don't read nearly every post. I look at the latest posts and the topics and read the ones I am interested in and that are written by people whose opinions I respect. Most times I skip over the off topic forum and any threads about things I don't know anything about (there are a lot of them).  I wouldn't suggest limiting anyone to specific forums or the like. I like to read about new titles in any venue - barn hunt, agility, IPO, whatever and like to congratulate the trainers, owners, dogs.  Any time a GSD does anything special, the entire breed benefits. I'm only suggesting that it might make this a frendlier forum which is Smiley's concern I think. That's all...

Thank you smiley for posting what I have been thinking and reading for years.
I think I have 3 posts. In a year and halfs time. I am terrified to post, I have warned others to "tread lightly" in posts, watch what you say, you will be ripped to shreads. I have witnessed from a newb asking a simple question. It is sad. I have 6 beautiful shepherds and don't feel I
1. Know enough.
2. Comfortable enough to ask a question in any forum.
3. Fear of being ripped in this forum or other forums I have found.
I understand people have different views and opinions, that's great, that should help us grow and helps our GS.
I usually use the forums to find an answer. That's it! I never ask questions.
I hope you leave this thread up maybe some people will read this and be more compassionate, patient, kind, welcoming, to others.
I am off my soap box now. Thank you for this. :)

Susie, I agree that work and conformation/show go together, just trying to come up with a solution for those who don't want the sl/wl to mix in any discussions. I agree with you about the 'whole dog', but trying to figure out a 'safe place' for those who are in need.
I click 'latest posts' too.

GSD Admin (admin)

LovesGSD007,

You are not the only who feels like this. I have heard it over and over. Mostly in private.

The thing is as soon as we step in, we are treated just as bad. Most admin have had snide comments made to them and then when we come back at the member we are all of a sudden a bully, a person having a power trip and plenty of not so nice things we have been called over the years.

We want this place to be open to all whether you have trained for 50 years, shown dogs or simply a pet owner. And sadly it has been mostly hi-jacked by certain groups who have done their best to ruin the place and take it over. It is sad, pathetic and disgusting all wrapped up into one big ball of ego filled god complex that is uncalled for.

I get tired of hearing over and over how this place is dead now - it simply isn't true there are 1000s of people who visit daily but most are to afraid to post or have little attitudes because one of their friends was banned because they simply pushed to hard and couldn't stop even after being asked to stop numerous times. Honestly, I feel no sympathy for those people who have been asked to stop and couldn't and now find themselves on the outside looking in.

When an admin asks you to stop, you really should take their advice and not push back.

Regards,

Mick

You're welcome. Loves!!

You have 6 GSD's? We'd really like to hear about them. There is a forum for newcomers so if you decide to tell us about your dogs, that would probably be a good forum. I only have 1 GSD myself, but I often wish I had 1 or 2 more. Hope to hear more from you Teeth Smile.

Gosh Mick, that's is terrible! Totally uncalled for treating people that are helping like crap!
I am so sorry. Are you able to kick them out?
I thought I was the only one. Lol.. Or I felt these people know so much, if I ask my "stupid" questions I will get the (here we go again) or the (you don't know??? You shouldn't own a shepherd) Lol
Thanks. I feel better. Maybe I can be a positive influence on people just trying to get the help they need.
Thanks again Bltzen, I am not sure if I am new or in the middle.. Lol
I feel like Swiss cheese. Things I know well, but things I don't but should know.
Now I know lots of people feel this way, I will post more for sure!,
😀..
Now my babies are tired, and I am getting a pizza! 🐾🐾🐾🍕

Ok...I'll start. Maybe this thread can be for people who want to support each other and communicate with respect. Ready.....☺️

I just bred my working line bitch to an ASL conformation dog. I am hoping to get a nice mix of the two bloodlines as I want to show a lot more in UKC conformation (maybe AKC all-breed) and continue showing in performance (obedience, agility, rally, tracking, herding, dock diving, lure coursing). Anyone see any successful crosses of these two bloodlines?
