Actually the FCI world Championships are a team event and one dog does not win it .. the highest scoring dog is recognized but I believe the term Champion is reserved for the winning team.

The FCI world championship is as much about the individual performances as the teams' overall performances. The highest score dog overall is the individual champion.

the Slovakian team won as best I can figure from the web site and the top dog on the Slovakian Team was a GSD so the World Champion would be the Champion dog on the Champion team .. Slovakia.

The highest scoring dog just happened to also be on the highest scoring team. If the second place dog had come in first the Slovakian team would still have been the team champion and a German dog would have been the individual champion. Last year Fabian and Boker were the FCI world champion, yet Team USA only placed 3rd.

IPO is not a measure of a dogs breed worthiness or of a breed. FCI IPO "world" Championships .... 2015 high score USA team .. Fabian and Boker .. Mal team .. 2014 .. Ivan Balabanov and Ibor .. Mal team

The German FCI IPO Teams in 2015 and 2014 did not have a single GSD on the team

There are more Mals at the FCI IPO championships each year as time goes on .. This is not a measure of the Mals superiority in anything other than an artificial game called IPO. In FCI agility world championships the German team entries for the large breed group (where GSD would compete) were all Border Collies or Australians. The ability of one breed to perform better in a sport does not make that breed superior nor does it indicate that individual dogs within a breed are superior. Many KNPV dogs are crosses of Dutch Shepherds, Malinois, and GSD in some combination. Why is this?? Because in these people's minds winning is the goal and how they do it is of little importance. That is what IPO has become .. a sport where winning is the goal and how you do it is secondary which includes disposable dogs and cheating. In the FCI IPO FH "world" tracking contest in Russia .. German shepherd were the majority breed and placed highest in the event. There were also Mals, Labradors, and other breeds competing in this FH tracking event. The GSD is not the best tracking dog in the world as a breed. Dog sports are artificial contests set up in a way that often if not usually favors a breed or a type of dog. The type of GSD that does well in the IPO "game" does not usually do as well in Mondioring "games" because the longer time on the field for Mondioring ( 45 minutes in one event ) versus IPO ( 15 minutes in 3 separate events ) favors a fitter and smaller dog able to work for longer duration with less over heating.

Hundmutter, about 60% of labs pass there guide training, where folders are shy of 25%. Labs do much better and are more sound. Yes, both are in the the programs, but goldens prevail! Glad you joined me OT hahah.

Thanks for the OT, Rivera. The Goldens just were an example - over here they mostly use Labradors, Goldens, and Mixes - way more than the German Shepherd ( no defense ).
I should have mentioned the Border Collie in Agility, too - better suited than the German Shepherd, too.
Do I care? No. Why? I am able to do almost everything with my GS.
