It has been removed from the picture hosting site, but he was very muscular, holding a leash with an impressive Pit Bull attached, and Abhay did not have a head (the pic was cut off).  It was obviously cut out of a magazine and scanned.  It was grainy.  I believe somewhere up above here, he mentioned that it might have been from an article done on him, in a magazine dedicated to dog fighting.  I just don't care to look above and find it.  Wait.........okay I did it.  Here is the quote from above

"below is me in 1978 with one of the best Pits who ever lived. The AGDT Magazine did a feature on me and my dog in the Nov-Dec 1995 issue."

AGDT stands for :  American Game Dog Times Magazine.  I have read one of these mags before and they are about fighting dogs.  Interesting that they would do a story about him in it, don't ya think?  Especially since he "detests" dog fighters so much.  But, I doubt it is him.  I still think he is about 4'7" and a black man. 

LOL  DRFN, you both crack me up though.  I totally abhor dog fighting and appreciate your concern.  I only hope if he did fight dogs, that he has changed and realized the horror of it.  As I posted before, I and several others in my neighborhood had their dogs stolen all within a few weeks and the police said that there was a small fighting ring stealing dogs in the area for bait dogs.  So, I have first hand knowledge of the horror of it as it took me a long time and tons of tears to stop thinking of my girl being used in this way - I still have a nightmare or two about it.  Now I don't even let my dogs run free in the fenced in yard if we are not here, they are kept inside while we are out - really ticks me off.  Honestly, I would like to put anyone who fights animals of anykind in the "lions den" for about 30 minutes or more and let them know how it feels to be put in a ring to fight for their very lives.  I have a deep respect for life that God has given us and also the command to tend and care for animals.  But, I am also a realist, not a "oh, poor cow, we can't eat him type"  God also gave us animals for food and a natural balance to all aspects of it.

I ran out of popcorn anyway and don't feel like running out to the store for more....you guys are fun to read and lots of interesting stuff gets thrown in here & there.

Sunsilver, I had two cats that used to hit a dog from 2 sides at one time, tag team.  No dog in the neighborhood would come close to our yard - they got smarts!  Also, would love to hear more about the breeder you are talking about and their program, very interesting and promising.

DRFNO-WTF!! On rereading this list I realized it wasn't Abhay that offered to set up a dog fight it was YOU:

"I'm not much of a traveling man, but if you want to bring your German Shepherd to Ohio, I guarantee I can come up with a Pit Bull that he will beat the snot out of your German Shepherd before you can rescue him, unless you are quicker than I think you are."

I'm not saying you would do it for real-I can't imagine you would after reading your posts for so long. But what gives you the moral high ground here? Seriously, Abhay can be judged by some things he said but you can't? And having reread it I can't see that he said anything so outlandish??

I don't think anyone on this board treats their dogs quite as spoiled as you think. Although I let my boy sleep on my bed and he even gets table scraps now and then, he's a dog. He's killed a few rats in his time, and fought off a pitbull that was attacking my mom, and this pitbull was supposedly a "champion" fighter. He almost killed him trying to save my mom, but came off on command when the pitbull was secured. We don't take him in when there's bad weather because he likes it. I take him to the vet to get vaccinations because I love him like a baby. He's never had allergies, and eats whatever food that happens to be on sale. When it comes to being a real dog, I know he'll be there. Whether he's protecting me, or i'm protecting him.

I think that you are right Yellow Rose.  I need a break.  Everytime I stop, someone else starts.  Abhay disappeared and now allabout is taking up the battle.

Funny how people will tell someone else to just stop and smell the roses, but they keep pushing the subject.

One of my many flaws is that when I am pushed, I push back twice as hard.  I apologize for that, but I am what I am.

Sorry about the above allabout, I meant that I answered it on the other thread about ya'll being so forgiving, so quickly.  This going back and forth to different threads is getting difficult with my dial up service.  Takes me awhile to load a page.

I'll stop if everyone else stops.  If you just can't control yourselves, then neither can I.
