Mithuna

My trainer said he has worked with several dogs that had Lord close up in their ped and he liked them all ; especially their proclivity to track. He mentioned that their mental maturity came a little later than expected.

@ Gigante - you are a fool.

If part of my marketing strategy is to allow potential buyers of PUPS, to test the parents - then yes guilty as charged.

By not training your own stock - it is impossible to know what working traits for good or bad you have there. To sit back on untested parents and hope the puppys will come good is - shabby.

Or put another way, one which you might grasp - you are breeding race horses, but don't run them.
So all you can EVER say is - yep that horse sure looks fast.

Or in your case - yep that dog sure is mighty dark, that means he will be an excellent worker, with very high drives lol. (which is what you are saying on your web site re the adult dog you are currently selling)

Giving advice to Mithuna is a bit mis placed, sounds like she is training her dog - ALWAYS a good idea, and should be a pre requisite when breeding working stock.

The music you choose to put to your web site slide show, (it's not a video) is up to you. I only mention it because, you are throwing stones in a glass house re marketing. (your web site blurb about historic legendary dogs and how great they WERE, set to music  - thats all marketing sweetie)

So in summary - both of us market our dogs, the difference is I do it well, then I invest the time in my breeding stock to personally train them.

Now call me old fashioned sweetie, but the reason I do this, is so that I can look any potential puppy buyer in the eye and say - both parents are very well balanced animals who track and are extremely capable protectors in ANY environment - here they are, judge for yourself. If you follow some advice pre any future training, and extensively socialize your pup, one day your pup MIGHT be like mum and dad.

So going back to the original post @ Mithuna - that is how I personally sell my pups quickly to switched on people, hope that helps.

NYC? Apartment? Don't.

Yet another reason not to.

Have you ever raised a litter? Do you have any idea of what raising a litter entails?
Hint: By 'raising a litter' I don't mean just getting them physically to eight weeks.

Hexe Thumbs Up

Gee start your own thread to advertise your amazingness and your dogs. Im not marketing here, I rarely do. The difference is you are. Looking over my music selection is not going to help you sell your dogs in the thread. Focus on the things you currently understand but do it elsewhere, they have classifieds here, start their. Stop advertising me as well I don't have much for sale right now, but thank you none the less.

NYC apt...... Where are you going fire the water cannon at them?? Your not the family that locks their dogs in the basement till you get home from work who tried to get pups from me a few months back are you? Apartments and breeding couldn't even imagine it. Yes you could be holding on to pups if you care where they go thats a real issue if you don't have the space, time or resources.

Gigante - marketing is part of this thread, which is titled "Why are some breeders able to sell puppies so quickly".

I am one off those breeders, hence my genuine contribution.

I currently have no pups for sale - all sold to knowledgeable people with bloody good taste.

Well, he could do what so many city residents do, and let the local pound sell the 'left overs'.

by joanro on 22 December 2015 - 15:12

'Marketing' is how puppy mills stay lucrative and 'sell quickly'.

by Gee on 22 December 2015 - 16:12

Joanro - re puppy mills not relevant to me, as I only EVER have 1 - 2 litters per year. Also it is possible to sell very quickly to people who know exactly what they want and why they want it.
