@GSDMoose

The best advice I can think of for you, is NOT to mention that for you— the cost of spending, and "money doesn't matter" as you search for a PP Dog. That is an invitation to the sharks to jack their prices. While you may think that you are showing willingness to "get what you pay for", the greediness of people making money off of dogs is often astounding. There is the famous example of Steven Segal, take a moment to read this thread. I am hoping it is worth your time.

Prager

I'll and others will sell you dog for $5500+S&H and up. I also [provide h handler's course. However you need to keep training through life of the dog about 1x per week. I also teach clients how to determine if the trainer is a sport trainer, sportist or pp trainer. $15000 or $30000 is ridiculous since to spend a lot of money is not a prerequisite that you will get true pp dog. You can get great dog for 1/2th of such price. Also dog truly worth so much money ($30 000)would have so much training that you absolutely do not need. Such a high price may be justifiable only for internationally famous studs producing super pups. But in the end dog is worth what ever anybody pays for it. However for the same quality you do not need to.

I have seen and heard that price so often that I guess I just thought that was the normal amount to pay. Thank you for telling me this before I went out and spent that much. I'll start crossing people off the list then. My question is, because it is important to me, do those dogs know how to protect themselves? If I ask the seller for that kind of training, will they do it? Will they tack a couple thousand more on it?

Bergit hall @ alertk9 will treat you right. She knows good dogs and knows how to train for what you're requesting, without robbing you.

I second Joanro's recommendation of Bergit Hall, Alert K9.
