In my recent communication with mostly male breeders and GSD lovers around the country, I am finding out that many men love the type of GSD we cal an old school A hole. I like that kind of dog too. I was just curious to find out how many guys on here like old school A holes and if yeas , why?

a broker i know recently was trying to sell a 3-3 line bred on Gildo male at a reduced price. He was way too much for a new wed couple. After hearing what the dog was up to at 10 months, I backed away from being interested; its a daily struggle to keep him i line, and he is starting to challenge.

I am looking at the standard of the great GSD breed. No mention of your terms old school or rectum. I guess the standard was written before ''new school'' was invented. My deff of " old school'' is roll up sleeves and get working. Part of your work should be research. again ''old school'' [ no internet] A rectum is needed so that my dog can can the poison out of system daily. I would rather deal with the other end of his body, his head. That is where his mouth is, and closer to his brain.

What's the definition of an "old school a-hole?" What traits/qualities are we talking about here?

BW
I thought that people in the working dog community was already aware of the use of such lingo.

I have an idea...but just wanted to make sure our definitions matched. Everything is a sliding scale...an a-hole to you, might be biddable for me.

So is it biddability? Is it handler aggression? Is it complete lack of clear-headedness?

Hard
Agressive including handler
Not so clear headed
High energy
Dominant with a feral flavor
Fairly low threshold
Always need to be managed

people in the ''working dog community'' are aware of wanna bees who start stuff on the keyboard for entertainment value, sort of like the clown movement. Minthuna, do you pay attention to the people who respond to your emails? The person who's family owned Gildo told you they question the validity of a pup for sale from a 3-3 gildo line breeding because that dog is gone for years as well as his direct sons or daughters, and most likely his grand kids. Give up your internet travels and go train your dog to behave.
