I got a dog back at 6 1/2, he was about 10lbs. underweight. He was fed Fromm.

Weight has been the issue. Had young adults on it last summer, all lost weight, Adult Gold, even OLD dogs who don't run like nuts lost weight. I had used Fromm large breed puppy but at about 7 months of age they need too much food to keep weight on. I guess it would be ok for breeds that are low energy.

I have a Quardes son from Stefan that I have fed Fromm puppy then Fromm Gold. He's done great on it for almost 2yrs. I'd never used it before. The only reason I started using it is because that's what Stefan uses on all his dogs and had him on. Plus I figure if any hip issues show up on OFA there won't be any issues of "nutrition" since its what the breeder himself uses.

My main point of using Fromm Large Breed Puppy is the amount of calcium (not too much) and not excessive calories. This formula fosters slow steady growth as opposed to fast excessive growth if these components are in excess. Fast growth and excess weight in puppies is a contributing factor to bone and joint issues later in life.
