All that video proves is that the "dog whisperer" dude is just another garden variety con-man.

How stereotypically classic, set a dog up in a scenario to fail and then come up with a ready made solution to sell to dumb people.

There is nothing in that video that would test a dog's genetic potential, I can't believe anyone would fall for that.

There are actual valid tests to assess an untrained dog's potential, that guy is clueless.

the dog is chained and behind a fence, so he has two things making him stronger ,no way of telling what he will do if chain is cut loose and fence taken down and dog taken out of his comfort zone

I remember an episode of Cesar Milan where some famous lady had a boerboel in a kennel that was growling and snapping at everyone approaching, that dog totally collapsed when Cesar just opened the door of the kennel and sat down in front of that open door

it is a proven technique to make weak dogs stronger by having them on a chain or behind fence and agitate them and let them "win" every confrontation

the video put up by sunsilver is also proving nothing, showing a dog, clearly trained behaviour on a biting suit doesnot mean it ill protect you, however the dogs from topsport lines in the beginning of video will also not protect you LOL

real protectiondogs have to be protective by nature, not by training, an after that trained to be in control only

Duke your not telling the whole story either, nobody has ever seen a clean slate dog, life is training for a dog.

Duke you train your green dog's as much as anyone, actually more than most so what the hell are you talking about.

Let's be real clear here with words, it's an important discussion.

VK yu dont know anything about what I do or dont do,
first you test a dog on suitability, than after that start training a dog that has proven he is worth putting the training in

if a dog doesnot have the genetic ability to protect, you can train your ass off but ut will never be a protection dog, but a deterrent at best, and that is what many people buy and what works in many ocasions as well

Look every one that trained for protection or guard work will hope there dog will bite for real but until a real test comes along its all here say and to be fair not many dog get to prove them self. In twenty years I have only had 1dog to prove himself and he is getting on now . The next generation please god will never have to prove what he is made of . When a dog get a real bite the dog changes in mind set and really becomes a lot more confidence.so will that dog in the video bit for real we can only guess

Duke: " the dog is chained and behind a fence, so he has two things making him stronger ,no way of telling what he will do if chain is cut loose and fence taken down and dog taken out of his comfort zone " Thumbs Up

Personally I interpret ( ! ) the sound of barking as defensive, not aggressive, not prey driven. I wouldn´t climb the fence, but I´d like to meet the dog somewhere else ( without agitating noises, out of its personal comfort zone ).

In case this really is a "Romanian legend" the owner should think about how to take proper care of a "legend" - even as an "oldtimer" this dog is highy overweighed, the coat sucks, and it doesn´t look as if it gets a lot of exercise ( muscles ).

Even a legend deserves a good life.
