in KNPV there is Always the 3th man helping/correcting, at the long bite handler is about 300 feet away, I wouls say without guessing that this man approaching reminds the dog what the dog had happening to him before when not outing or rebiting by the 3th man, and the dog responded to avoid punishment he expected coming simple as that.

@BM same as in good exercises as in bad you are lookin at trained/shaped behaviour that doesnot really tell you much about the actual dog, and if he is not good enough, how can he be titled than ?

Not just titled, championship meeting I believe so already proved exceptional to be competing, does not fit profile of a nerve bag.

Overcooked in training confirmed.

All learn, you want a cringey, unreliable dog, beat it too much in training.

Well Duke very simple there is a big difference between a good and a GOOD dog

This dog will be doing well what he have learned 3 years of the same training routin and go
to Eindhoven to the Championships, that handler from Ody on the video is not the original owner
but this is an other story

The best dogs you don,t see always on the championships with lower points, ...Depends wich handler , club support etc etc. Old news

(  Its a points championships you need at least 433to go there....)

But its not my type of dog why not because I have seen this dog also for real but who am I.....

There are dog with 434 points who are not good enough for the real job( police don,t buy them in Holland after they test themself ), But there are also dogs who
with 385 or some not certification who are now in duty because they are  also good enough outside the standard routine .There is a big diifferent between just training behaviour and CONDITIONING and real genetics but I think you already know this.

 Same Old  story Wink Smile

Oh ... and if I say a dog is no good  . other people will maybe  like the same dog

different experience and so many different opinions .............

(And ofcourse all the respect for all handlers and dogs who bring it to Eindhoven its a hard job to do this.)

hope you understand my question was not really a question because I know that all good, bad and ugly can be titled if trained properly, but still, the problem in the video cannot be blamed on the dog

now what if the helper didnot go down and the judge didnot move in, we would be having a totally different conversation after looking at the video of same dog, think about that for a sec

It's funny how if a dog does something like this in KNPV...people will reach and grasp for every excuse in the book they could find. If the same type of behavior happened in an IPO trial, they'd slam the dog, helper, handler, the whole entire system of IPO, and anything else they could possibly throw in there.

Interesting how people's biases are presented.

by duke1965 on 04 May 2017 - 14:05

so what is your experienced opinion Bav, the dog is geneticly afraid of incoming judges ?

by Bavarian Wagon on 04 May 2017 - 14:05

Of course not duke...

The dog is doing KNPV, it's perfect.

If the dog was doing IPO, it would be considered a piece of crap even if it scored 299.

by Bavarian Wagon on 04 May 2017 - 14:05

WOAH!!! Missed this part...

Admission from someone who is heavily involved in KNPV that not every dog that is titled in KNPV is capable of real work...my god...it's like...it's like...KNPV is a sport or something.

Bavarian Wagon, if you dont have anything constructive to add,why bother to respond, all that frustration Wink Smile

What about if they put this dog on the front leg with the stick atack than there was no any discussion
And the dog take the full score of his points ....if if if if,,,,, @ 0.34 I see not a strong secure dog......

The dog comes STUPID blind hard LOW  in the middle from the helper not any idea where he must put his grip/bite, a not familar helper, strange stadium full of people all of this can be have influence on not a strong secure dog......just saying
