Psycht

I like the new messageboard layout a lot.  Actually the only thing that irritates me about the new site is the "Sold Out" stamp on some of the ads at the top.  It just smacks of Wal-Mart running out of TVs on Black Friday but that is just me.

@ Kaffirdog,

All in good time.

@ Psycht,

Oli did that to show what was sold so users who place premium ads and sell the dog/puppies won't be bothered with calls/emails/PMs. Do you have any other ideas?

@ Nans gsd,

Sorry to hear this as this site should be faster than the old site. I know it is quicker for me than the old site.

@ everyone,

One of the main reasons behind the change was the other site was built on an outdated platform. It was not mobile friendly and it used a lot of Java which is not friendly with a lot of phones. We used the other design for almost 10 years and it was time to upgrade. Also this platform is more secure. There were other reasons that Oli decided to make these changes and those will become apparent in the future. The old site was very intimidating to new people and confusing so Oli wanted to make something that was less intimidating/confusing and I think he did that by simplifying the navigation.

OK...I'm getting old...What are the alternatives?

I think whenever things change there's a "break-in" period...A period of time it takes to get used to the new way of doing things...

I thought at first the new site was harder...but after a few days of using it and it's features it began to be easier to use...I think it's easier to get to things now...

When something is FREE and then the owner/designer listens to it's users to see how he/she can make it better...I think it's good...

I think criticism is good...bitching is not...

VKGSDs

I like it.  Can't hardly remember the old one now.  I like that all the topics are in one list so I don't have to click through all the forums.

Agree VKGSDs, that is one of the excellent new features. No doubt great effort was put to come out with the All New PDB and it's a good chance to thank Oli and admin of site for the good work. That said I don't think it's perfect or convincing to eveybody, positive criticism is a good thing for future improvements as I like to think of Oli and admins as open minded smart fellows Tongue Smile

How about just "SOLD" it would be appropriate for both litters and individual dogs and doesn't look so bargain basement.

I will look for "Sold".   But everything today is subject to ownership and stuff.   the "sold out" tag was way cheaper then "Sold".   ( if I remember correctly "Sold out" cost me about 100 USD when the "sold" would have cost like 10 times more.. )   If it bothers few then in all likelyhood it will bother much more.   I will change it.

Do it as soon as I have a sane offer.

Oli
