I think you guys are misunderstanding me, although I would love to have the traditional GSD color, I do not want a showline dog.
They do not appeal to me.
I would love a black/tan dog (dunno if that's the right term for the color) But not the greyish color, the sable for an example

Sloping backs are a big NO NO for me .

I've been looking at some nice kennels in Sweden with good police dogs and search and rescue dogs, liking that :)

Again you guys rock for helping !

I contacted a breeder that I really liked and he finally came back to me (I've been trying for a couple of months) and offered me to visit when ever.

They have only had 11 litters in 24 years and that is the kind of breeder I have been longing to get !!

So I'm real excited, they have a litter this summer and cross fingers I will be able to get one from that litter although I very much doubt that I will have settled in my new place and such but I've waited for about 10 years to get my own GSD, I can most definetly wait a few more :)

Here is a photo of a dog from this kennel - now that's my type of a dog - in fact I believe that in this picture is the most beautiful GSD I've seen or maybe he is just really good at being photographed ;)

If I can get a dog that resembles that one, I sure will be a happy girl !

Can't believe this is actually going to happen, I might get my first GSD in the next years ! VUHU!

Just a quic Hi-5, KUDO's and U-go-grrL to "escobar"

it's really excellent to see people ASKING QUESTIONS and learning before getting a GSD...

Good luck and trust there'll be alot more questions... and as many answers that all seem confusing. It's how we learn ;-)

Thank you holygrail, I really appreciate it .

It has taken a long time to find the right breeder and that is just over the internet, I might have another problem when I meet him and I might not even like him or his dogs !
Boyh then we go again - let's all hope that dosen't happen.

But you know what ? I see people all the time getting dogs without thinking about it, hell I even got my first (only) dog like that.

I could have a dog and I just took the first one that came my way and it was a labrador.

Granted I love the dog to pieces, but a labrador retriever and me ? No dice !

I'm not gonna lie to you, I would love to be able to get my Schafer right now, but that's just not how things work .

Patience, patience my friend I keep telling myself - let's hope it works out for me .
