Not much of a surprise here then; rather than addressing any of the League's issues the reply merely  contains minimization of responsibility and justification of the actions it has taken. It is steeped in arrogance and hypocrisy (and badly written)

Some of the comments area also breathtaking;

"
The major difference between us is that we believe that the poor hindquarters of many GSDs constitute a welfare hazard while you appear not to do so."

Where is there any hard, generally accepted scientific evidence that this is the case? anywhere?
Such a comment, when viewing the anatomy of the style of animal that the KC would appear  to currently actively promote, is quite frankly ridiculous

"Our view is that More4’s independent decision to criticize the conformation of the winning GSD at Crufts was symptomatic of the problem that the world at large recognizes but that you do not."

It seems to me, conversely, that  The "World at Large", whilst not advocating that everything is perfect in the International type of GSD, views the current situation in the UK, for which the KC bears most of the responsibility, as appalling and in need of immediate, decisive and united action.

This is exactly what the League, and other associated clubs that have had the balls to stand up to the KC's bullying are advocating. Genuine lovers of the GSD now are therefore now faced with a stark, and perhaps difficult ,choice.  If these clubs do not receive significant support they may fail. It is very important that individuals now join these organizations. "Sitting on the fence" is no longer an option; it is colluding with organizations that are bowing to the KC mandate.

Show your support overtly ; join the League now.

It's all KC spin.  They have to reply in a way that makes us look as though we're refusing to implement changes that would benefit our breed.  This letter will be (has been?) published in the dog press and perhaps in some of the Daily Newspapers.  They will never be honest, they can't afford to be.  Once our move is seen to be successful, other breeds will follow, it's already being talked about; the KC will do everything in its' power to wreck our chances and it'll stand us in good stead to remember this.

It's going to be down to us to get it the truth out there and we all know that, actions speak louder than words.

 I am absolutely confident that the GSD Clubs that have NOT signed the KC undertaking will be delighted with the exciting opportunities that will soon become available to them. These Clubs will become the "core" future of our GSD breed here within Great Britain. A little more patience is called for.

In the meantime we all need to build the membership of the GSD League, which will meaningfully build their strength, authority and influence throughout Britain and within the WUSV, which consequently will lead to even greater opportunities for us all.

Not only will the support given to the League in the way of membership increase the  required funds to help develop any future plans they have to promote the breed here in the UK, you only have to do your sums  and with the reduced entry fees at any of their Events  , plus a free magazine ( I think 3 times a year.) the membership is good value for money. I would also like to suggest that sooner rather than later we could adopt a life membership number as is issued by the SV with a yearly renewal subscription where you only require a receipt of payment. This would give members more ownership and a once only issued membership card which would also show their date of joining. In the future after a given amount of years decided by the League Council certificates could be awarded to long term members . This is just an idea which would help when hopefully the membership increases, and would give us more control when the use of membership numbers becomes significant with regards to Surveys and also Work Books which are used to record show grades and working titles etc . For us to have these books in place and become part of the system we cannot have a membership number which changes annually.

have already applied David.am awaiting the application form for signing and return.god to think i was ,at the beginning getting very angry with yu lot,as i was adamant that we shouldn,t break away from THE KENNEL CLUB.,and here i am now SAYING THIS (THE WUSV)SHOWS are the way I,M GOING.wouldnt have thought it,but i do think the kc have behaved very badly towards this breed by being dictorial and bullying.some of their tatics very underhanded and i personally think those who have signed are in for a very,very bumpy ride with the kc saying one thing and then doing another without informing them.their previous actions towards the partnership and the breed council should have rung bells.well for your sake i hope i,m wrong and wish all the best for next year BUT i think you,ll be out of luck.Carole S.
