If people want to dump KC, go it alone, organise their own thing etc etc, then who the hell cares what KC think about it?
It sounds to me like some of you guys want to go it alone AND have KC shows. The words "cake" and "eat it" spring to mind.

And whats so wrong with having the cake and eating it? Never did quite understand the point to that analogy, what else is a cake for if not to eat? As for who the hell cares what the KC think about it, Zac you are right on the nose with that one though. We have tried working with the KC, recently we have even bent over backwards to make our requests for further Health initiatives fit into their own ABS, but they still choose to get their knife out to stab us in the back first. They (KC) listen to the lunatic, bigotted and totally biased ramblings of a Media Maniac, hell bent on delivering a sensationalistic load of crap clap to the public in the most misleading of documentaries because sensationalism sells programmes that in turn makes money. But when the boots on the other foot and the lunatic misquoted the KC they expect us to believe them.
Er, duh, I dont think so!! Perhaps we should all go ask our Taxi Drivers which one of them is telling the truth, aint that what members of the KC do, seems even Taxi drivers have far more influence on KC decisions than breed experts, which when considering the type of logic (or lack of it) that obviously runs rampage through KC corridors that aint no surprise at all.
TAXI......!!!!

OPEN LETTER TO THE DOG WORLD FROM THE KC
BACKTRACKING OR WHAT?????????????????
Open Letter to the Editor - Dog World
03-Oct-09
Dear Sir
I am writing in the absence of the Kennel Club Chairman Ronnie Irving to object strongly to your front page story ‘New war of words in KC/GSD battle’ (October 2nd 2009).
The statement attributed to Mr Irving in the October 2009 issue of Dogs Today, in which he is alleged to have said that GSDs will be ‘thrown out of the Kennel Club’ has no basis in fact. As the author of your story admits, ‘finding the source of the story has not been easy’. That is because this source does not exist. By repeating this falsehood, you have simply exacerbated the problems caused to the relationship between the Kennel Club and the GSD breed.
The article goes on to state that the Kennel Club does not deny the quote, which is simply mischief-making on behalf of the writer. As your writer knows, Mr Irving was, and remains at the time of writing, out of the country and could not be contacted prior to your deadline. We thus stated that whilst were not in a position to deny it categorically in his absence, we believed it to be highly unlikely indeed. Having had the opportunity to speak to him subsequently, I can confirm that he does indeed deny it.
As stated recently with regards to Bulldogs, the Kennel Club’s position remains that it would be sad to part ways with any of the breeds which it currently recognises. There are no plans to throw GSDs out of Kennel Club licensed events. Far from it in fact – the Kennel Club wishes to find a way to come to an agreement on how to move things forward with the breed and the world of dogs in general.
Yours faithfully
Caroline Kisko
Kennel Club Secretary

The KC is what it says on the tin-it's a club and as such we are invited into it,but that doesn't mean it has or can have a monopoly on dog shows. What I guess you breeders all seem worried about is off loading your pups to the general public, without KC registrations to move the stock along. But if a split came, and personally I think our powers to be should just go ahead and tell the KC what we want and what we intend doing about it, and tell them if they want to be a part of it ok.
Instead of going cap in hand and negotiating on the KC preposals, negotiate on ours.
Then a few well placed adverts via our new governing body/'Breed Council could let the public know whats what.

Paul, I would just like to clarify, The GSD League and BAGSD are members of the WUSV, this is NOT the SV.
SV events are only held within Germany. Outside of Germany they are WUSV Events.
A WUSV event can be judged by our own Judges. For example if 12 Regional WUSV Events were organised for 2012, ONE EVENT for each month, these could be Judged by our own British Judges. Although I would like to see at least one SV Judge along with say at least three British Judges doing the judging honours at each Event.
We could hold 6 classes for each sex, Working Dog, Adult Dog, Yearling Dog, Junior Dog, Puppy Dog, and Minor Puppy Dog. This mirrors our British Sieger Event, and the FOUR or more Judges, could be spread amongst the classes.
There is NO need for us to abide by the "frequency of Judging for Judges" rule that the Kennel Club has for its licensed shows, and our Judges could gain valuable experience. Perhaps Our Breed Surveyors could be at the forefront of such Judging appointments.

I also see a SECOND tier for GSD that are not ready for the Breed Survey and accreditation, for instance those under 18 months, and those from breeders that are not ready for the breed survey. This group would have a different colour Pedigree.
In addition I see our breed organising it own GSD events, I suggest that we stay with WUSV regional events, which means we are conducting them under established and world recognised rules & regulations, which the Kennel Club and any other organisation would have great difficulty arguing with. It would also build a much closer international connection for our breed within the UK, and closer relationships with the SV.
Much more will develop from this, not the least sustainable and measurable progress for our breed here within the UK.
