Most of the people I know pick up their dogs, Paul. Some fly to Europe, most buy them here. The base price of a European dog is generally less than one bred here, so it probably evens itself out in the long run. If people here can't afford the price of shipping from Europe, maybe they shouldn't be buying or importing another dog?

IMO it's wrong to send ANY pg bitch to a strange place to whelp a litter. That's my opinion, you are entitled to yours.

Abby Normal

If we had all of the good dogs we wanted in America we would not import them, but we don't. I have read a lot of your posts and I think you are smarter then some of your statements. I think the problem is, you have not been learned to think for yourself and embrace freedom. Be a free thinker.  Have you every been to the USA? If not you should ( I will pick you up at the airport ) We have the right to be wrong, and that is a great thing. We can learn from our mistakes or not learn. It is our right. To be forced to do things to our property is not freedom it is Communistic. It is the same as "wealth redistribution"  Not everybody disserves the same. Some disserve nothing and other disserve a lot. Not every body disserves a good dog some have earned a piece of crap.

I am not a user of drugs but I will say the biggest problem with drugs are that they are illegal. More people die because of illegal drug trafficking then from drug abuse. It was the same during prohibition. It is easy to make rules and laws that do not effect you personably.

Abby that propaganda as you call it is 100% fact and all what I have written above  is 100% truth.  I personally was looking into kennel for sale in LA county where  the advertisement said "kennel for sale not suitable for breeding".The reason for sale was to relocate this kennel with excellent breeding program  because general spay neuter law in LA county.....the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has passed an ordinance that requires all residents of unincorporated areas in Los Angeles County to have their dogs spayed or neutered and have an identification microchip implanted in each dog. The measure applies to all dogs over the age of four months kept in unincorporated (non-city) areas of Los Angeles County. AS I HAVE SAID  yes there are exceptions and they I believe cost is now $60 ( was $200) per year per dog. If you have breeding program necessary for improving the breed and thus have larger or large number of dogs, then you can not afford to fork over thousands of dollars on dog tags for keeping intact dogs.  The exception is granted only to dogs who competed in competition or who earned titles or if you are a member of specific clubs which are under UKC or AKC virtually eliminating other clubs or registries including all FCI registries for example or would eliminate  many non AKC registered wonderful breeds like Shiloh Shepherd or breeds which are not registered yet or do not which to be registered under AKC or UKC and have their own registry. .

You obviously like governments running rough shots over their own people, that you have established quite eloquently here but I and many others do not we love Liberty.

Paul - question:

After all the years and all the GSD's imported to the US why do we not already have enough good dogs here? Why is there still the need to import more?  When will enough be enough? Ever?

by Paul Garrison on 04 May 2013 - 11:05

Blitzen

I have no problem with your opinion. I do not believe it should forced on others. I have sent several bitches to Europe to be bred with great results.
Being able to afford is different then too expensive. The inflated dog transport cost is a results of  dumb asses within the AR movement..

Abby: Of course the personal effects on your pocket that you are worried about are coming through, but your portrayal of dark forces at work somewhat obsessive.
First of all it is not just my pocket but pocket of every person who wants to own pure bred dog. And Yes I am obsessive about Liberty as Marcus Tullius Cicero  and many after him said:

I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!

It never has to be enough. We should be able to buy what we like with the money we have earned. Americans have screwed up every breed of dog they have brought into the country, just look and the American bred German Shepard, and every other working breed.

by Paul Garrison on 04 May 2013 - 11:05

I put up an ad on PDB "dog wanted" No one as of yet has shown me a dog for sale that is even close to what I want that is in the USA

by Blitzen on 04 May 2013 - 11:05

Maybe your ad isn't reaching the entire GSD community, Paul? You are probably not interested, but currently there are over 7,000 GSD's listed on Petfinder. Maybe we already have enough GSD's for time being? Just saying..........

Paul, most people are afraid to admit they have dogs like that, even tho some, like myself, know you were not looking for an alligator in a dog suit.
I have dogs that will definately bite someone. And, more than likely will go in for a second bite, IF the need arises".
But these same dogs will lick a "normal "kids face.
