I want to thank you for coming forward Cesna.

by jaggirl47 on 15 August 2014 - 05:08

I thank Cesna as well. From what I see Cesna is an excellent breeder. True breeders do not hide like the fraud we are exposing.

by CvWRK on 15 August 2014 - 05:08

Cesna came on here with information when she could have just as well stayed quiet. I'm actually impressed... and very thankful she did so.

It's nice to know there's decent people out there too. And good breeders. :)

So all I see here is a whole lot of he said/she said.

1. Linus -- Do you have vet records from this dog supposedly eating a Kong toy? Pictures of his emaciated state? Literally anything else to support any claims you are making toward this dog? Because I have seen ten different claims on five different facebook pages and/or forums about this dog's whereabouts, some of which are that the breeder still has him, others of which say the breeder still knows where he is. If you supposedly "know" the person who took this dog from Augusto, it should be pretty trivial to get photos of him in such a poor state, should it not?

2. Sadie -- Again, do you have any proof that this Sadie and the one in his breeding program are the same dog? No? Well then this would appear to be more he said/she said. Plenty of breeders also rescue, you do not need a 501(c)3 unless you are claiming to be a nonprofit, which Augusto is not. Oftentimes these dogs need thousands of dollars in vet care as well, I really have no reason to see why this should immediately be deemed a lie. A dog that costs nothing can easily run up into the thousands in medical expenses.

3. Feeding Craigslist animals to his dogs -- Once again, do you have even one iota of proof that this ever happened? If no, why are you posting about it? This would seem to be libel to me.

4. His training -- Last I checked, I haven't seen anyone going to this man for protection training. I have however seen plenty of people go to him with dogs with severe behavioral problems. Plenty of these dogs no longer have said severe behavioral problems. There is nothing wrong with his training method, it in fact appears to work very well. Most people don't go to private trainers to do schutzhund or protection work, they go to schutzhund clubs.

5. His history as an escort -- These "escort" ads were made with the same photos that Augusto put on his facebook page. Even if he IS an escort, what bearing does this have on his worth as a dog trainer? It's his body to do what he pleases with, and unless you're going to sleep with him, why, exactly, do you give a shit who he's in bed with? It's absolutely none of your business and claiming this as having any bearing on his worth as a dog trainer is simply an example of the composition/division fallacy: https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/composition-division

Now, would I want a dog from this person? Probably not, because I would want a dog from proven working parents. However, there is nothing wrong with his training methods and I am not running around the internet making libelous claims about him with no backup. You are also quite likely to get sued for doing this, as unless you can prove that EVERY SINGLE ONE of your complaints is factual, you are causing tangible damage to this man's personal life and perhaps even his business. You may want to think before you continue posting this stuff on his page.

If you don't want his dogs, fine, don't buy one. Vote with your wallet and he'll eventually go out of business. This pitchfork mob bullshit, though, is disgusting.

Anastasia,

Seeing as you have issues reading the information I will clarify on here as well.

1. It's posted in Augusto's own words claiming Linus ate a kond and died of a blockage. You just actually have to learn how to read instead of skipping that crucial step.

2. Sadie. Yes, the page has proof and the admin over there will be posting that shortly. Once again, proof in Augusto's own words with some awesome screen shots before he deleted the items from his pages.

3. The official complaints are on file with animal control to include copies of pictures and videos. Call them to verify.

4. He is attempting to sell a male WL for $5000 that he will "protection" train, yet he has NO clue how to do protection training.

5. Being a prostitute is illegal in this country, except in Nevada.

6. As far as your threat on lawsuits, the page has forwarded all of the information to the authorities and it has been proven 100% factual. Once the investigation is complete the page will post the remainder that they were asked not to at this time.

by alsoadoglover on 15 August 2014 - 14:08

1. That's super cool, but the breeder is up there claiming Augusto never even HAD linus to begin with, but a dog which was probably fraudulently tattooed with the same number. Also, in said chat logs, the person he's replying to's name is blacked out. I see two differing accounts here which makes me believe someone started a conversation with him on facebook and then claimed it was with the breeder.

2. I haven't seen a single shred of evidence that the Sadie that was saved and the Sadie from breeding are the same dog. "They look sorta similar" is not good enough. Prove the two are the same dog, please.

3. These are police evidence, which you don't have access to, either. In fact, the police department is not even able to tell you if they *have* any complaints. How could you make these sorts of claims if you have no evidence that they actually exist? Not to mention, feeding farm animals to your dogs is not a cruelty complaint unless the animals were not killed humanely, which in this state means anything from a shotgun to a knife across the throat.

4. Show me the ad and we'll talk.

5. It still has 0 bearing on training dogs. If I smoke weed, it has no bearing on if I can do dishes. If I sleep with 1000 people, it has no bearing on how good a pet owner I am. Same goes for Augusto--what he does with his body is his business, and illegal or not, it has no bearing on his worth as a trainer.

6. This is false, because unless you are a cop or his lawyer, you are NOT privy to the information law enforcement has. In fact in order to submit electronic evidence, you have to fill out a special form. Most stuff on the internet isn't even admissible in a court of law because it can be tampered with. Moreover, chatlogs of things happening are what we call "circumstantial evidence" and are not admissible in a court of law.

by jaggirl47 on 15 August 2014 - 14:08

1. The name is not actually blacked out and is on there. You just have to look. It's there, plain as day, in at least 2-3 pics.

2. As I said, the proof will be posted by the page admins. And yes, there is clear proof. Keep in mind he has Sadie #1, the one in question, and Sadie #2, which he "rescued" this year. Sadie #2 was bred within 2 months of "rescuing" her this year. There is 100% absolute proof he bred Sadie #1 after "rescuing" her as well.

3. Official complaints happen to be public record. So, yes, you can find out about the truth on it easily.

4. I will pm you the ad on the male WL. He also has 2 black WL females because he planned on branching out to the WL's as well.

5. It shows a history of dishonesty in regards to "earning" money illegally.

6. The admins of that page and several groups have been accruing evidence for over 6 months and forwarding it to the authorities. The information has been verified and yes, can fully be used in cases. The authorities were able to verify the info themselves because Augusto posted the information so publicly. So yes, items on the internet, once verified, are fully valid in a court of law.

by alsoadoglover on 15 August 2014 - 14:08

1. I don't see any photos. Assuming they exist, it's also very easy to change your facebook name to whatever you want...and if that's the case, why do the facebook logs COMPLETELY contradict with his breeder, who is on this thread and claiming that, A, Linus is alive and well, and B, Augusto never had him?

2. If there is proof, why haven't you as of yet provided it? If you have it then providing it should be fairly easy, no?

3. Actually, if there's an ongoing investigation, they're not, to prevent mobs from this one forming. Details of a case are not public. Whether someone has been charged with something may or may not be depending on if the charge is more than a misdemeanor. This is all besides the fact that feeding your dogs farm animals is not a cruelty matter.

4. K cool.

5. You realize lots and lots of people have been forced into prostitution due to hard times, right? Should all of these people be painted as "dishonest" for ever and ever? I guarantee you know at least three people right now who have worked in the sex trade. There is nothing dishonest about it as long as all parties know what's up, just like there's nothing dishonest about smoking weed even though it's illegal, or drinking raw milk even though it's illegal. And it still has NO bearing on his worth as a dog trainer.

6. Have they accrued any evidence OTHER THAN that which has been posted on facebook? Because a law enforcement investigation requires, you know, actual in-person evidence. Facebook is not good enough. Unless these people know Augusto and have met and worked with him personally they have no case.

EDIT: Called up the town of Hyannis. He was investigated for improper zoning, that was it, apparently I was wrong and they WILL give you what they have for open cases, but that's the only thing on public record right now. No cruelty charges.

by jaggirl47 on 15 August 2014 - 14:08

1. The dog in question has not actually competed since 2011. A glitch in the computer system had the results for a border collie (I believe) come up under his AKC number. That is confirmed through AKC. The person the breeder sold the dog to is the same person that the other one nursed back to health conferred with concerning this dog, which is one of the reasons she verified the tattoo and registration.

2. I am not the admin of the page. The admin is at work and will post the proof later today. There is 100% definitive proof. inadvertently provided by Augusto himself.

3. We never said he was being investigated for cruelty. ;) He should be and AC has the info on Linus as well as the contact info for the people involved. As I said on the rest, which you found out yourself, it is public record. He is being investigated on his illegal business and the practices. Several owners have placed complaints regarding their ill pups from him, with the vet records.

4. I couldn't pm you so I posted it on that page.

5. He did the prostitution, instead of attemoting to find a real job, between getting rid of his lab breeding business and starting his GSD breeding business. He was in trouble for breeding labs in Dennis Port 2010-2011. It was run under the business name of Guy's Labrador Retrievers. He found GSD's can get him more money.

6. Yes, there is plenty of other evidence aside from the Facebook and online info.

More info will come out but the page is getting the info out that will not disrupt the investigation at this time.

by alsoadoglover on 15 August 2014 - 15:08

1. If he nursed the dog back to health, why are there pictures and why does this story not corroborate with the breeder's?

2. Definitive proof would be pictures of said dogs, not statements made by Augusto. It's easy to take posts out of context to "prove" whatever you want.

3. Then why, when I called the town of Hyannis, wasn't this on record? Again, feeding animals to your dogs is not illegal and the only thing he's being investigated for is running a kennel with improper zoning.

4. Cool. Then don't buy the pup.

5. How do you know he didn't attempt to find a real job? Last I saw the economy has kind of sucked, especially for someone without a degree, ESPECIALLY for an immigrant. Again, there is nothing immoral about prostitution just because it is illegal. Drinking raw milk is illegal, too. So is having a cat without a license, in some places. So is having a space heater inside your home in others. And again, NO BEARING ON HIS WORTH AS A TRAINER.

6. Then why doesn't the town have an open investigation? There is no "information that will not disrupt the investigation" because there is no investigation nor have any charges been filed.
