Hello there i am a new breeder and am looking for some advise on building a new breeding kennel. I am using a garden shed at the moment but want to construct a better kennel that is more suitable for breeding and also more hygenic and comfortable for bitch. Was hoping for some advice from some experienced breeders. Many thanks.

My whelping area works well for me, I have an insulated garden shed leading into a single insulated garage. It is large enough for a single bed (because I am with my puppies 24/7 for atleast 2 weeks,) a 4' x 5' whelping box and a heater. If I have a winter litter they are whelped inside the shed area because it is easier to keep them warm. I also have carpet on the floor for warmth which is taken up when they start to leave the box, I then have wood shavings strewn on the floor and hay bales around the walls for warmth also.
For summer litters they are whelped inside the garage area which is much larger and so cooler.

In my dreams I see a brick building that has cupboards, fridge, sink with hot and cold running water, air conditioning
and double doors that lead out to a soft turf area, Oh and a bathroom because I always have to go during whelping because of all the coffee I drink.

I need to win the lottery
