Thank you for the kind responses guys.
The reason I did not start any earlyer the civil work with Desa was to not get her too "attached" to the sleeve. I am a great believer in starting protection work only when the dog's instincts are mature enough, I am particularly thinking of fight and defense when I say that. For a first session, I am really, really happy with her response!
Well I am posting these updates so you guys can analyze one of Carly's progenies. ;)
I will post new videos when Desa gets to a more advanced level in her training.

No sleeve sucker for sure, and a pretty nice dog I'd say.  How does she do in obedience?

No not a sleeve sucker at all, which is what I love about her work so far. She is ok in obedience, she is not full of drive which is fine by me, I don't intend to compete in sports, I actually believe the sport in its current form is not helping the breed much, but I guess that makes for a different topic. Desa is a calm dog who comes to life when there's action in front of her. She is calm but firm in grip play.  I will get some video work done when the training goes on so you can judge things for yourself as far as drives go. I predict she will not be very firey in obedience but will have a serious protection. Should all go well, she will definitelly be used in my breeding program.

I agree I also think that the sport is going no where to help the Breed in general, only teaches the dogs to be robotic, they know what is coming next and not letting them use their own initiative. Just my views though.

Yes that's where I was also going with what I said. You can have dogs that are not that good but perform well in a routine because they know what's coming next and they don't have to step out of their confort zone, but I guess this is to be discussed in a different section (or maybe it's already debated in this forum).

I think it's generally common to get lower drive dogs out of the Astor bloodlines, which her mother is linebred on.  Her mother's mother is the product of a full brother/sister mating, though a 2-2 linebreeding on Kaso zPS's sire, Iwo.  Carly may have strong drives himself, but as I mentioned previously, is probably not prepotent for producing them.  Desa will have her merits for breeding, I'm sure.

I guess time will tell the extent to which Carly can pass on strong drives, based on the number of progenies so far I would say it's a bit early to draw a line.

Ibrahim, so Chetra will not undergo protection training, or...?

by Ibrahim on 31 March 2010 - 17:03

In my country (Jordan) there is no shutzhund training as you have and no training clubs etc, people do train their dogs in a traditional manner as per their needs. I know a trainer who was in Police dog unit who trains for me obedience level 1 & 2 and territory/property protection, he is good but I am sure not as good as some of the trainers you see on this board. I am not good at training myself, I keep talking to my dogs and I like to believe that by the time we understand each other better.

I couldn't let this thread fade away or die. Sssooo...after reading how much some of you guys like Quanto, I feel almost special that I got to see him in person. And all I have to say is...that dog is H U G E!! The current owner of Quanto is located in the U.S....and the owner has some awesome and I mean f'en AWESOME breeding stock, straight from Jiri. I think he'll be adding Carly to his breeding stock soon. Here's his website: www.cainidepolitie.com

And someone mentioned the combo of Ox and Gina, Bady and Hanach. Those combos has already happened. Actually the Bady x Hanach litter was still up for sale earlier this year. Jiri informed me, through email, that the Gina x Ox litter was already sold before they were even seven weeks old. Gina won't be bred anytime soon because they will be competing with her.

I'll be picking up a puppy from this litter from Hans in May : http://www.alpinek9.com/puppy6.html So you guys will probably be seeing more of me posting on here cause I'm gonna need a lot of help

So Carley gets bred to no less than 16 females within the year, and before anything can be said (either way) about how he produces, he is already sold?!

Kreative Kennels didn't seem to have Quanto long before his second "retirement" to www.cainidepolitie.com  Maybe the guys at Kreative didn't realize they're supposed to cycle him through all their females first.
