am i right in saying the word ' Alsatian' was ''dropped'' in 1972 in the uk its the older generation( 50+) due to the fact people grew up hearing that name. Its only people who know abit about dogs that will call it the gsd

It is as daft as that - the word Alsation was invented, not bred. Lets get rid, lets at least vote and lets see if for once, the KC take heed of the majority.

A poll that i missed also ran by dogworld was;-
'Where official health schemes are available, should it be compulsory for both parents to be tested before their progeny are registered by the Kennel Club?'
In this poll which I suspect was voted on by the 'other breeds' an overwhelming 217 voted for, while a measely 11 voted against.
