I mentioned my own-bred SG-Brix v Eichenluft HGH,KKl-2 on this thread.  Sired by my own-bred V-Eagle v Eichenluft Schh3 (25X), FH2, KKl-1.   I also have another titled (Schh1,KKl-1) stud dog who I bred/trained/titled who works very nicely, available for stud - but he's showline so I didn't mention him on this thread.  There are not too many breeders who raise/train/title their own-bred dogs, though.  it would be a very short list of stud dogs (or titled females) raised/titled/bred in this country.

but, carry on.

We in the US REALLY like EU dogs. Always have, and always will. They seem to do a better job due to the close proximity of the clubs so that they can see the dogs training and working from the start.

Here, people will promote breeders that they have never gotten a dog from, and smaller breeders get little chance to place a dog in someone who actually works a dogs hands. I am not sure why we are the way we are, but how many of the people who post here actually work dogs ? That is not a slam, look at how bad the logistics can be. Most polls end up with two hours one way as the average time from house to club. Brutal. If you have a bad day at work, the last thing sometimes you want to do is drive 4 hours.

I think it is good to go back and see how few dogs we really talked about. LOL

I know this comment about tracking is a little late but.....in Schutzhund aka "sport tracking" there is more to it than following scent.  There are articles, which in real life situations could be valuable evidence pertaining to a crime.  Therefore, I find it extremely important for the dog to keep his nose to the ground and to make EVERY corner as to not miss an article/evidence.  If a dog is air scenting and cutting corners then the dog has a very strong potential to miss evidence.....unless the dog is actively apprehending someone running!  JMHO....

Maybe it,s because it,s better to hear from people who have worked the dogs progeny then from there own self promotion?. Most breeders I think would rather hear it from some one else then have to self promote. You don,t always have to own the dog that shows it,s ability to say "This is a good dog" your results will speak for them self's most of the time.

Not everyone needs to get there arm that far behind there own back??? wonders never cease to amaze!.

Mac von der Kine is now with us in California.  The topic is the "Workingline Best Stud Dog" , which I think is a very subjective choice.  We felt very good about breeding our top quality bitch - Jilnannah vom Talka Marda to him in Germany before bringing him to California.  People can check his health, conformations, genetic,  and performance records, but I can tell you that after having him with us for the last 3 weeks or so, we enjoy him very much for who he is as a representative of the breed.

Molly,

I liked the way you explained yet different way to train and use of it.
Just because one cant make the dog to be focused enough to do the job, it doesn't mean it is not good training; it is different training, another use.

I still kinda wonder why nobody mentioned Erri z Blatenskeho Zamku, Max Ze Stribrneho Kamene, these are "now" dogs, some handled from later age by the handlers but these dogs are here in the USA, they did something here in the USA and as far as I know Erri's progeny looks pretty good. I dint know much about Max but I was considering him for my female as one of the "potential" studs. I am yet to ask the handler how his drives really are. I know I will get an honest answer. I forgot to ask when I chatted with them in NV.

Debbi Zappias own bred dogs father and son she took and trained and proved the lines do the job.. I am more interested in these dogs than some dude in Germany.. I can go and find a good stud in my hometown most likely but I want one that is HERE in the US, handled by a good handler here in the US. I dint know but am I asking that much?
