there are still great dogs aorund if you look hard enough and in some ways even better than some of the great dogs of old, my breeding stock being example of some of them, there are some great breeders that even today maintain great working temperment

Steve, I have a different opinion. This thread is the most interesting thread I've ever read. You have a poster that wants to know where all the "real" shepherds have gone, but he is lucky enough to have the last three "real" shepherds in the world.

The Real Shepherds have always been out there.   You just have to look for them
