FWIW when I was talking about breeders in this country I WAS NOT talking about Kraftwerk or other breeders like that. I guess I prefer the smaller breeder. While some do require contracts and sell on limited registration, I know others who do not.
Obviously each person has their reasons for going the route they go... either way thanks for the info and good luck to the OP!

We only ever purchase from "smaller" breeders. Very rarely from within the USA, but there have been some.
But most times we have gone across the pond for the very reasons I listed.
And yes, it is a two way street, but at the end of the day, we make our decision as a consumer/buyer not as a breeder.
Breeders that train and title their own dogs, then keep back progeny to continue forward like you have done (and others) are to be commended!

Mariah is now 9 months old and a very substantial, well put together bitch. Big, bold and beautiful. Lot's of drive and high spirits with no conscience. The open floor plan is much to her liking-so easy to check the counter tops for goodies. She made off with a whole chicken that was in the sink and did not share it with Pharaoh. sigh......
Smart, driven dogs keep you young.
That leap of faith is a scary one when you are buying a dog.

One lesson I have learned.... NO MATTER who you buy from and what hip rating they have according to paperwork get the hips xrayed as soon as the dog hits the ground. Better yet email the CMKU and they will be more than happy to give you info on any dog.
