You can put this thread to rest. I called last night and the pup is being shipped tomorrow. I probably shouldn't say this, but you were getting screwed. I got the pup for $9500. I'm so excited.

Used to be the case with me, a couple of decades back. Not anymore.
I don't find it any more laughable that a SL breeder asks 10K for a puppy than I do that a WL broker overcharges a client for a defective dog.
Agreed, if there is overcharging for a defective dog, with no refund/replacement when that defect is made known to the WL breeder. Don't think I heard of any such case recently, where the refund/replacement has not happened.
But 10K for a puppy ? I personally would walk right away.

I bought a puppy(s) from him before for reasonable price and last time it was NOT VA1 or first pick litter, so I thought/ my thinking was for this particular litter it should be something reasonable in price range or like last time when I got a puppy from him.
This is what he said:

Shtal, a pup really should not be more than 2 k. Honestly there are exceptional pups for that price. You might see $2500.00 in some cases if a bitch was bred in Germany and there were only a few pups. Absolutely no need to over pay on a baby.

Last time when I bought a female puppy(s) from him the litter was from VA6 Male, he was asking $2,500 but my brother bargain with him for a while and then I got discount $1,000 dollars from original price.
I guess going from VA6 to VA1 GSD litter, Mr.Bill charges too much for a puppy with a privilage of VA1....
