Shtal,
Didn't you have puppies recently?  What happened to them?

by beetree on 06 January 2012 - 23:01

Didn't Marine Mom pay $15,000 and think it was a great deal? Or was that for two dogs?  I actually would be tickled pink if she made an appearance again, believe it or not!

I can't resist but to chime in. The last show I went to a few months ago, there was a newcomer who had purchased two of Bill's pups from two different litters, and she had purchased the most expensive of the litters ($7500 each, is that what he charges for "supreme top show pups"?). I was excited to see what these expensive, pick of the litter pups looked like, having never seen his dogs in shows before. Both pups were nice, but average - and, believe it or not, both dogs placed LAST in their puppy classes. Let's just say, the newbie owner was in a state of shock.

"Let's just say, the newbie owner was in a state of shock."

I'll bet.  Another expensive lesson in BS.

Is there are guarantee that this puppy will be show quality? The thing is no one can really look at a puppy at 8 weeks old and know if it will be show quality or worthy of breeding. This is why a puppy at 8 weeks isn't really worth more than about $2K. Just wondering if this "pick of the litter" puppy comes with an guarantees on quality of the dog. Does he hang on to his puppies longer than 8 weeks?
