First pick in the litter cost $10,000 US dollars - Page 6

I am cracking up at this thread for multiple reasons, first of course the $10,000 price tag, but secondly because the photo the OP posted as an example of a puppy he would like is a picture of one of my puppies, here is the pedigree http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=723002  

Not the same pedigree as the dog from Bill, but I can tell you that this particular puppy sold for $2,000, he happened to be the second puppy chosen in the litter but was actually our pick male from the litter, super structure on this puppy and great color and pigment too and the temperament was and is outstanding from what we've heard from the owner. Both parents hips and elbows a-normal, mother is tested CLEAR n/n for Degenerative Myelopathy. Five VAs in the first three generations. Not to mention this puppy came with a 5 year guarantee, and I must say it is a waaayyyyy better guarantee than Bill's one year, you have to give your dog back or you get nothing guarantee (posted on his website) Not too shabby of a puppy and definitely not priced at $10,000!!!

The reason I used your puppy is because what I seeing from Bill in the past with high$$ price, I wasn't impressed as much, but don't get me wrong.... Bill does have sometimes very interesting pups.

Bill labels his dogs to his benefit, its ALL about marketing. "Ultimate Supreme" What does that even mean? The dog at 8 weeks is showing potential for what? If the dog was THAT great, he wouldnt be selling it (IMO). "Exceptional Female" from a "super world class litter" Really? There is NO guarantee that the puppy would go VA, Sch3, Kkl1 and have a normal hips/elbows. What makes a dog that is labeled "Ultimate Female" different from a female labeled "Ultimate Supreme"?

I think he is the ONLY breeder/mass producer that has such labels on his dogs.

And quite frankly, he charges 10,000.00$ for puppies, simply because he can and people WILL pay it, I mean come on, for an Ultimate Supreme puppy, why not?! Hah

He really is a genius at marketing, is what it comes down to. (like Science Diet, masters of marketing)

 That kinda cash for a dog that genetically will have a at best lower then average grip and the working ability questionable at best????? P.T. Barnum said it best "There is a sucker born every second"  I,m sure somebody will or has already paid that kinda cash.


  

10,000 will get you a round trip ticket to Germany,  a weeks stay, and still bring home a pup or two.  last time i checked that is.

price and guarentees do NOT make a better dog.  

but what does it really matter,  i can do more with a cheap calculator watch than you can a standard rolex.

I agree that I would never pay this much for a pup but you know this how?

If you want a great pick of the litter and decide to go with top working lines,I can save you much money at only 500.00

 I take into account these dogs arent bred for working ability. There claim to fame is conformation and movement which because of the breeding fly,s in the face of the breed originator. One must also take into account there definition of "working" if it is no more then the  points on a field then there fit for the task no more no less.

 A working dog must be bred to a working standard.
