Some may not agree, But look to the heavens above for your answer. As another has said , I believe that Kali will let you know the best way she can. But on the more cheerful side. Think maybe you can tell us a short story about Kali and what you remember the best about her ? I think it helps to talk about the pets or in my case Partner we care so much about..........
Always in thoughtful prayer...........Rick

Over the years I have told many a story about my girl, her intelligence, her spirit, her bravery, her loyalty, her sense of humor, her tender gentleness, her ferocious protectiveness, her incredible insight....she is a 1 in a million dog. I could write a novel about her life, she was never a pet, from her first moments in our home as a 9 week old puppy, she looked around, sized up the situation, & took charge. She ran the household from day 1, & took her duties very seriously. She was my partner in command. Whether we were taking a walk, watching my grandkids, 'supervising' my husband; she was right there, offering support, & her vocal comments. She inspected everything brought into the house, & let us know if she approved. She made sure the meter readers did not dally, let the delivery guys know they were being monitored, kept all the neighbors houses under her watchful eye, always letting us know if anything was amiss. She could gently tend my grandkids, keeping them on the sofa with a nuzzle & a bonk, & they could crawl all over her, pull her ears & her tail, & she would be delighted; tail wagging slowly so she wouldn't wack them with it, big doggie grin on her face. A second later she would alert to an intruder, gently detangle herself from the kids & stand guard, low growls noted as she placed herself between the kids & the threat. But if the kids would follow her she'd gently push them back with her muzzle & a wag, then return to watching her threat object. And all this was untrained. She always knew the right thing to do, at the right time, no exceptions. How could such a wonderful girl be dealt such a hand. Sorry, I can't see through my tears to type right now. jackie harris

We're back from the vets, & before I have to dash off to work, I thought I'd update as best I can. The news was 50/50. The good news was that her lungs were clear to x-ray, most canine malignancies metastasize first to the lungs, so that's a hugely positive thing...& she did well with her surgery. The not-so-good-news....they could only remove 1 whole mass of the many she has, (they were hoping to remove a couple), & these do look like tumors, very dense, solid, not calcified, with tendrils that are invading all the surrounding structures, bone included; which is probably why they're so painful to her. That is hugely negative, because it means that it's going to get harder & harder to keep her comfortable.
So, there it is. Now we just wait for the pathology report. Both the vet & her assistant stated that this is something totally weird, not like anything they've seen before, so if there's a chance it's treatable, we'll have to go somewhere more advanced.
But for now, she's home, she's still a little groggy, drinking well, took a little cooked chicken, was already stubborn about her first antibiotic dose & first pain pill, I don't blame her, but she did eventually take them both. She's leaving the sutures alone for now, but we have an e-collar at the ready, just in case. Carl will keep her in our room for tonight. Thank you all for your continued prayers & support. You really don't know how much those sentiments mean to us all. Thank you again, jackie harris

I'm soo very sorry for you and your girl. I know exactly how you feel, we had to put our beloved Czech male down last fall due to a massive cancerous tumor in his stomach, inoperable by the time we found it.  It is never easy to do these things with our family members, but we all know our dogs lives are all too short for us. We'd all like to have them alot longer than we get to. My thoughts/prayers will be with you!
