Lol, I work with a bunch of chefs, and this is pretty much how they talk to each other in the kitchens.

LMAO!  I love that guy!

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Steve can have a potty mouth no doubt I would suggest that before you discount or disparage someone you take the time to watch a lot of the other videos of Steve training with same group. or maybe even talk to people who have actually trained with him . Trudy

Absolutely, Trudy.  If you're interested in becoming a good helper or in getting the absolute best performance out of your dog that he's capable of giving, Steve is a good bet if you're willing to listen to him.  If, on the other hand, you're looking for a candy-coated trainer who'll blow smoke up your ass, you should probably go to PetSmart.

well i would not use any one that talked like that and there are alot of good trainers in the USA, i dont live by him so i dont have to worry. i will say i have never seen this behavior out of any other SCH trainer, most are pretty nice. they will flat out tell you  what you are doing wrong with out  disrespecting you.

The video has been made private. What I'd like to know is Steve WHO?

Back in the '70s and '80s, when I was taking riding lessons from a very strict, tough, ex-military trainer, you got kicked out of his class for swearing.  I really don't see the need for it.  When you were up on that horse, though, it was his way or the highway, and he got his point across quite well without swearing.

Wow is right.  Denise, you trained with Steve long enough to know how he talks at training. This is not a surprise to you. You even laughed along. Everything has to be done in an instant and you know how frustrating it is for him when the dog gets shitty training, because ultimately, he's responsible, and he wants a well trained dog, and doesn't want a dog picking up a bad habit. He will tell you over and over, he does this for the dogs. I've heard SO many people say Schutzhund is not for the light hearted, and that is SO true. Dog trainers are not usually the church talking kind. You weren't. I am not. Steve isn't. So what? What does surprise me here is you being as petty as the person who made this video by posting the link. Steve left this area long ago. Why are you still holding a grudge? Why even bother posting the video? Let people form their opinion of Steve on their own. I thought we were going out to do pictures of your dog last year, but you never responded. I had some things at the time and then asked when would be good for you.  Did I hold my grudge? I learned my lesson not to in a VERY hard way I'm still trying to work through. It's OBVIOUS that the person who made this tape is trying to ruin the reputation of a National Level Helper who has helped train MANY newbies from nothing to titled dogs. He has been a helper at the WDA Sieger Show for the past three years and worked all the dogs consistently. The fact that this video is cut just to hear the swearing and not the whole situation, or know the owner and the dog as some are slower to learn, makes it completely obvious it is a vendetta one (or in this case two) won't let go.

Steve worked both of my boys and you know it, and I listened to the screaming. We all gave it back to him here and there. I didn't title either boys as one did not have the temperament and I was too chicken to do a forced retrieve on my Baby, as well as even more of a chicken to think of being on a trial field, so both boys became new helper trainers. If I had a dog that was ready to work, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to him. Mason is slow to figure this out, but getting better. He's only a year, so I'm not worried. I hope someday that I get a chance to work him with Steve. Last time Steve was here, I did work a dog for a friend on Steve and I got yelled at right away. Not my dog and I wasn't sure what he wanted. It only took one time though and I caught on and the dog did awesome. You have to have quick responses in this sport. I could absolutely see the difference. If you don't like it, move on, but don't do this crap. It didn't involve you anyways.

A.P.
