Am I happy? She is a crazy nutbar, hell on wheels, ball of fire, and the most loving and loyal dog you could ever ask for.  Am I happy?  I am overjoyed.

If it's the same in your avatar, she's so pretty, extremely beautiful face expression

YES.   YES.  YES.     A million times over.   Each one has their own thing.
-------------
1.  Rose, my do anything, go anywhere, shoulder to cry on, friend to laugh with.   Will she protect me?  I will not count on it; she never met a stranger and all humans are her friends.
2.  Baron, my big loveable, keep the lab inline, husband protector.  Will he protect me too, probably, but too unprodictable.  His version of a threat is not always the same as mine and he still like to question my commands.
3.  Max - my always smiling, always ready for a snuggle puppy.  Will he protect?  Maybe, but it will have to be taught.  I do not want this in him, so he will not be trained for protection.
4. Cirberus, my little hell hound (that is where she got her name) puppy.  Will she protect?  I have no doubt.  We definitly need training (both of us), but that can wait.   Let puppies be puppies.

Well done to Orwell;  now you just need to teach him 'Out', IbrahimRoll eyes

Am I happy with my GSD ?  Very difficult question !   The current one is much like most of the
others I've had around me, either my own or my mentor's or my boss's:  "Somewhat."

I love his rich colouring, his overall proportions, his 3:3 hips & haemo clear status, his friendly
nature;  I don't like his slightly lumpy topline, his overshot bite, his daft habit of chewing peoples'
clothing {while they are wearing it!}, his limpy back leg.

I can find fault with anything, you already know that !  [At least I don't think I could ever get
'kennel blind', lol].  On the other hand, whatever is wrong or imperfect with any dog, I still love
them to death.  (I find it really hard to do as you do, have only done it about twice, both times
in the best interests of the dog;  and it's killed me on both occasions to let them go once I've
spent any time with them.)

BTW we say "Spay" when neutering bitches only, the correct term for neutering males is to
castrate.

I am very happy with my boy.

If I could get a stack on him I think he would have solid comformation for a working line.

But this picture is why, at the end of the day I think the world of him.

Castrate it is, I will make sure to remember that Red Smile

Beautiful dog RLHAR, great conformation, not for a WL, but for a German Shepherd.  That is the way they all should look IMNSHO.

I've one Shepherd that I'm 100% thrilled with.  As the cowboys would say, "there ain't no back up in that dawg".  He's friendly, outgoing, loves to swim, does pet therapy with the elderly.  He has shown his natural protectiveness since he was 5 months old, but still very outgoing.  Ikon is completely what a GSD should be.  That being said, he's not a dog that a novice could or should handle. He's got a very strong dominate personality, and has been socalized since being a baby to accept people when he meets them.  The other three are easier to handle, less dominant but I'd not depend on them for protection with the same confidence as I would Ikon.  Ike would die to protect, and never consider backing down if either Bev or I were threatened.  Love all 4 of my kids, and wouldn't give any up willingly, but I know that Ike is the one Max would have wanted in his program.  Unfortunately because I have very serious back/shoulder problems Ikon will never be shown for his Schutzhund titles, and therefore will not be bred.   (His sire is an Ufo son out of Tinkerhof breeding, his dam is a Xito (Mainache) daughter... yep, genetics DO show up)
