With the resources on this board, we could become a major force in saving shelter dogs. We have people from all over the USA, here. If you could find it in your hearts to join this organization I am hoping to put in place, many lives could be saved. If you are willing to foster and hold for transport (usually takes 2-3 weeks to get  transport together)  or drive a leg of a transport, there is no end to the amount of lives that could be saved.  I could find out temperament, dog friendly, people friendly, etc, so you would know what type of dog you would be fostering or transporting. I will do the basic legwork to gather this info. If you have an interest in being a part of this database that could save countless lives,  please post on this thread what you could do or be willing to do. Thanks in advance for those of you who have already offered to become involved and thanks to those of you who will become involved. I though it would be easier to have volunteers in one thread devoted specifically for this purpose.

If this became big enough, maybe Oli could form a 510c3?

Oh and something I could do in the present time is put an adoption page on my website. All I would need is the particulars about the dog and a couple of pics.

I will look into this :) Thanks for the idea :) Spays/alters must be paid for, or else they wont release a dog from a shelter, even if the dog has a place to go.

Also, if anyone knows of anyone who has state licenses to pull, if they would allow its use, that would also be a great help, rather than last minute scrambling...

Right now my hands are full with Shelby, as you know, but I can help monetarily.

Having the breeders participate by putting up an adoption page on their website, as vonissk suggested, would be really helpful in spreading the word about the dogs that need homes. I've seen this on the sites of a few breeders and I thought that was really a nice gesture. To me it spoke a lot about who the breeder was as a person and that he/she is actually concerned about these dogs in need of homes.
